Mattress?????? Is the Kingsdown really worth the $$$$
I looked at the top of the line, Platium Kingsdown king today. It was the best model. I was quoted a price of about $4000.00. I am still researching but Sleepy's seems to be the only dealer. Is the mattress that good? Is $4000 about what it should cost?
I was told by the salesman that they are contracted by the company at what price they can charge. I'm not sure I believe that. Any feedback?
Thanks!
(Sorry for all the questions today.)

Yes, Kingsdown is worth it I have had mine for years and when we were dating DH hated to go to his place to his own bed.
However, at $4,000 I think you are getting ripped off.
I shopped for the best price - even as far as VA (Haynes carried the exact set we wanted but under a different brand name). We got it at Sleepys and talked the sales guy down to almost nothing It's commission based and they price match.

My dh works for Sleepy's, if you would like to FM me for details...he said that he can offer you a friends and family discount. We sleep on a Kingsdown ourselves as well as our son. We love the mattress. You must have been talking about the body systems, correct?

$4000 for a mattress? UMM NO! my sister & BIL have a top of the line Cal King mattress - one of those that has separate controls for each side and you can adjust the firmness and theirs was $3K.

Have you called 1-800 mattres? They say they beat everyone's prices. I would say that sounds high. Maybe you could go to another sleepys or Rockaway Bedding and check out the story.
I agree that you shouldn't cheap out for your bed but that sounds excessive.
Also, keep in mind that they may not have the same exact bed since the model numbers and names change from retailer to retailer.

Re: Mattress?????? Is the Kingsdown really worth the $$$$
If you are looking in that price range, did you try a tempurpedic bed? DH and I have one and it is the best bed we have ever slept on. Worth every penny. Honestly, I think that inner spring matresses are going to be a thing of the past. Soon all beds will be memory foam, latex, or a combination of both.
