max 3 1/2 months old..ugh possible croup-help!
let me start by sayng I typed this long thing and then it said I was not logged in-now I have to re-type it..I farging hate that.
Max sneezed a few times yesterday. I didnt think anytihng of it-he has sounded congested since he's born in the chest and the doc said he probably has allergies. . He only sneezed like 2x today-color good-no fever--no trouble breathing. When he cries he sounds croupy now. Im freaking-I know croup gets worse at night and its not night now. What if his throat closes up and I am sleeping? A/c off or on? only have it at 75 degrees. I dk--air quality stinks outside now. What can i do besides a hot shower and we all pass out? I never had a sick infant. my older two never got a cold until over 3 and thats about all they ever got. Should I call the doctor? their christening is Sat and I didnt do anything yet..now I will be dragging him with me!

Re: max 3 1/2 months old..ugh possible croup-help!
Croup is upper airway, maybe he's a little swollen due to alergies or a virus? Or maybe a little of both?
RSV comes to mind...yup, have the whole family over to see your newborn like I did , and bring all the relatives' kids too. ....He was 6 weeks old with it, thank god not too serious; I was lucky. Epiglottitis too, but if you've got that you look really sick. You would be able to spot that in a second. That's the throat closing in a second variety, and he would be drooling, labored breathing, the whole shebang looking really really ill.
If his color is good and he has no trouble breathing, and no fever then I wouldn't freak...but I still think I'd make a call to the doc and reassure yourself. My thought would be ac on, and just keep an eye on him to make sure he doesn't spike a fever--
Hope the christening isn't a nightmare

How is Max doing????
I don't think little babies can have allergies. It takes 2 seasons of exposure to allergins to get allergies (although it's not impossible.)
If he doesn't have a fever I wouldn't worry. Perhaps give him a steam bath to break up the congestion???
Hope he feels better

well..I haven't heard him yet today..but they both slept through the night! He never showed any symptoms last night other then the cough once in awhile. I do not think it allergies but the doc mentioned it-he ner got rid of that infact conjestion sound. I just hope stays problem free. The covering doc called back and said its fine to take him out--and watch. And keep a/c on at home and use humidifier. Everything I kind of knew but wanted to confirm! Thanks ladies!
