may I join you ladies . . . .
Hi. I have lurked these boards for a while, and x-posted a few questions from TTC. Today I spoke to my dr. about DH's SA and while most of his levels were within the normal limits....he has less then 1% normal shaped sperm
x-post from TTC
I am starting Clomid tomorrow (CD5) for the first time. The dr. said that maybe it will "push the baby button" and one of DH's sperm will "get in there and work" I hope I don't have many of the side effects that I have read clomid can do to you !
I just don't know what to do when my dr. switches practices . . . . I don't know if I should stay with him or stay at the practice I'm at. He's moving to Woman's heath and wellness in Woodbury (and an office in Little Neck too) I wouldn't mind changing but when I look it up it's an OBGYN facility that also does "MedSpa" treatments - some of the things listed on the website are BOTOX, Restylane, Laser Hair Removal, Microdermabrasion, Bioidentical Hormone Therapy, Cosmetic Dermatology, Brow Lift. To me it just seems a bit strange to be combining those things with an OBGYN practice. I'm so confused !!

Re: may I join you ladies . . . .
Hi, my DH's morphology is 4% but based on what my doctor told me that percentage can change from one day to the next (higher or lower). I've taken clomid throughout the 5 IUI's I had and didn't have any side affects. The clomid def increased the chances of one sperm doing its job....we have a beautiful 4 year old boy.
With regards to the dr questions, if you like him/her I might follow him but remember you might not always see him during your cycle (in my office I can see any of 6 different doctors but I like them all). Good luck

I'm sorry u r dealing w/ this.
Are you seeing a regular GYN or an RE? Is the dr monitoring you while you are on Clomid?

My dr. right now is a regular GYN - not an RE - not even an OB (if I got pregnant I would see an OB in the practice where he is now)
He told me to take the Clomid CD5-9 and to BD everyother day starting day 10 for at least 2 weeks DH and I are going away next week so he told me to call him when I get back (Sept 1st) and make an appointment at the new practice for that week and we'd talk more then. He didn't say anything else. What else should he be looking for?
Only "issue" I have with the Clomid is I usually don't ovulate until CD 20-30 (big span I know) will the Clomid make me "O" sooner? IDK if DH and I can handle BDing every other night for that long !!

Re: may I join you ladies . . . .
just popping in here...IMHO, I would make an appt. for an RE. Get more information and be more proactive. I think you need another opinion.
About the Medspa stuff, my old OB/GYN did that too (but stopped doing the OB b/c of the cost of malpractice...turns out that I like her replacement OB better!). I thought it was strange at first, but it really is another certification/license for the doctor to carry, if it is all done by 1 person. I think it is also an easy way for them to make some extra cash by doing extra services all in one place.

Re: may I join you ladies . . . .
My husband has morphology issues as well, although his numbers were not as bad as you DH.
From what I have been told, when morph is really bad they usually go straight to IVF with ICSI.
I would ask your OB to refer your husband to a urologist that specializes in infertility, particularly male factor, and I would make an appt with an RE as well.

Thanks for your input on this !! I never heard about combining offices like that. Just seemed a bit strange to me because of them being different "professions" I wouldn't question it if it was my dermatologist office though !!
