May/June 2009 Mommy Check in!!!

What are our little 1 year olds up too?

Brayden turned 1 on 6/4.

~What are they eating??

He is pretty much entirely on table food (unless- Im out and about and need something in a pinch- then he'll eat a stage 3 jar meal and/or fruit). He loves loves loves fruit and vegetables, his favorites are blueberries and avocado!!!

~What are they doing?

Brayden has been walking since about 11 months old... He is my little terror... he climbs steps, runs around... he is into everything!

~Let's talk-talk!

Brayden has lots to say... mama, dada, papa, mema, duck, quack-quack, brown bear, cracker, more, ball, bubbles, yes, thank you, book, hi, and a bunch more!!! Im amazed at his vocabulary, espcially since my other child kept kinda quiet until he was almost 2!

~How are we sleeping?
Brayden sleeps from 6:30-6am and while at daycare barely naps at all (maybe 40 min the ENTIRE day ) however on the weekends I usually get a 2hr am nap, and 30-40min PM nap.

~Special stuff!
My little guy is such a people person, always smiling and laughing... He def keeps our lives BUSY, but always fun!!!

Declan just turned 1 on 6/12

~What are they eating??

He's still on baby food at least 1 meal a day. he likes chicken nuggets, eggs, waffles, hot dogs, etc. I'm trying to figure out healthier meals.

~What are they doing?

he hasn't been walking yet :( but he's crawling super fast and does the downward dog. he pulls himself up onto things like it's nothing and is now trying to stand on top of things! he gets into just about everything and i have to basically watch him every second of the day

he doesn't say much. after reading everyones responses on another thread, i'm starting to get a little worried. all he says is ba ba and da da and babbles like crazy. just not any real words!

~How are we sleeping?
he's been sttn since 2 months old. he's a dream when it comes to sleep! he goes to bed now around 11 and wakes up around 10.

~Special stuff!
he loves to smile at me and just goes nuts when he sees me. he's extremely gorgeous (i don't know if that qualifies as special haha) and knows how to make everyone smile and be happy!! here are 2 pics that megan and tara took at a play date!!

I'm a June mommy!

DS will turn one June 24th. He's been walking since right around turning 11 months, and we just got him his first pair of Stride Rites after he stepped on a bee while we were on vacation! He crawls like a maniac, and though he's walking most of the time, when tired he'll go back to crawling.

He sleeps 8PM-6:30AM, and takes two naps, generally one hour each.

He's a great eater--loves pasta, rice, noodles, chicken fingers, fries, raw carrots...He has 14 teeth!!!!! He loves throwing food he doesn't want on the floor...The more he dislikes the food, the further he will throw it!

He loves pushing his toy cars around the room and is such a BOY--smashing everything in his path!

He doesn't have too many words yet--mama, baba, GOOD (when he gets cookies or ice cream!).

DS turned 1 on May 7th. He's not walking yet, but is a madman crawler. He crawls & if he's trying to go real fast he'll army crawl. He pulls up on everything & loves climbing the stairs. He cruises all over the place & is starting to let go.

He only says, mama, dada & light and sometimes hi.

Still only on baby food; although he likes bananas & avocado & crackers.

He loves his baths w/ his sister, and finding every electrical socket & pulling everything out of mommy's cabinets. My fave is when he puts his head on me and pats my back. He's starting to point when we ask where certain things are.

~What are they eating??
Liam is entirely on table food which I am quite happy with because he still has no teeth. He loves pasta, meatballs, sauce, veggies, applesauce, yogurt, cheese, chicken, fruits, pancakes, waffles, eggs, etc. I haven't really found a food that he doesn't like.
We are in the process of transitioning to milk. He is almost entirely on milk.

~What are they doing?

Liam just started taking steps last week while holding our hands. He likes standing and holding onto things. He isn't walking on his own just yet but I am sure it is coming soon. He doesn't crawl he scoots on his butt. The pediatrician doesn't think he will crawl. We bought him his first pair of real shes from Stride Rite on his birthday. He loves them!

Liam does a lot of babbling. We don't always understand what he is saying but he says hi, mama, dada, baba, bubbles and book.

~How are we sleeping?
Liam sleeps from 7 pm- 7 am. He still takes 2 one hour naps a day.

I am totally loving this age! Liam is so fun! His babbling and smiling and laughing are amazing! I can't wait to have off this summer to spend time with him!

LUCY turned 1 on June 5th.

~What are they eating??

She is now officially on milk. We made the transition 2 days after her birthday. She loves it but wont drink it from a sippy. So she still gets her milk in a bottle. Water and juice from the sippy.
She eats some table food but she's quite picky. Her favorites are waffles and pancakes, graham crackers, watermelon, grapes, and french fries. We try to give her a little bit of whatever we're eating... but like I said, she's very picky. She doesn't even like pasta! Who doesn't like pasta?! Ugh!

~What are they doing?

Lucy isn't walking yet but she cruises all over the place. She's lacking in the balance department so I bet it'll probably be a couple more months before she's walking on her own. She did however, finally start to crawl right before her first birthday. But she much prefers being on her feet and cruising around the house.

Lucy says Mama, Dada, Baba, Franklin (at least a baby form of the word Franklin (our dog)), and she's starting to say bye bye. She babbles a lot and is probably trying to tell us something... but so far these are the only words we've gotten out of her babbles. haha

~How are we sleeping?
Sleeping has always been one of Lu's strong points. LOL She goes to bed every night between 7 and 7:30, and wakes up between 6:30-7:15am. She naps at 9am, usually for about an hour, and then again at 1pm usually for an hour and a half.

~Special stuff!
Lucy was a very difficult baby so we've definitely come a long way with her. It's crazy to think about how she used to be compared to the child she is now. She's now so smiley all the time and pleasant. She's still pretty timid around strangers but I'm okay with that. We just love her to death!! We're expecting a in 10 days or less and we're so excited to see how she's going to react to having a little brother.

Mason turned 1 May 28th


What's he eating??
Mason is still on baby Food Stage 2 and some 3. No table food. He gags a lot so meeting with a EI specialist to see if it's something we need to work on or he's just stubborn. he's a VERY picky eater. Started milk in the bottle and drinks some water in a sippy

What are they doing?
He doesn't walk yet. He's a very fast crawler. Can't turn my head for a moment or he's off. Climbs on everything and walks around holding things. Likes to push stuff around too. Cars or anything on wheels and now pushes his house, table or anything he can move.

Let's talk
he says Mama, Dada, To (for our dog Tommy), more, all done, car, and babbles a lot. Doesn't always talk when you ask though.

Sleeping
STTN since 4 mons. 7 - 7:30pm to about 7:30AM. During the week I have to wake him to take him to daycare. Takes two naps. 10AM and around 4:30ish

Special Stuff-
waves and smiles a lot. Very independent and friendly. plays games and likes to play ball (for a minute). Loves his shows YO Gabba Gabba and Wonder Pets. Dances to Wonder Pets.

What's she eating??
She'll try anything and will actually take it out of her mouth and stick it in yours if she doesn't like it...lol...I swear, we almost pee laughing at this!

What are they doing?
Krisitina is crawling like a champ. After a late start and lots of scooting, she's made up for lost time...she also cruises far more than my other dd ever did...but she also always has to be right alongside her big sister (she adores her and the feeling is mutual!)

Let's talk
she says Mama, Dada, and lots of babbling but thats all....she'll entertain us and herself all day long shreiking, laughing and talking!

Sleeping
STTN since pretty early on, she sleeps 7:30ish to 9:30ish in the morning (don't shoot me, I have no idea how I did it but both girls are awesome with this!!), she has three teeth breaking through on the top and (thank god) other than crying to fall asleep some nights, we can't complain!

Special Stuff-
Kristina waves to anything and everything, she has learned to (somewhat) do "nice" to the dog and does it all day long, poor Louie! She loves to laugh and fake coughs any time anyone else does. She enjoys doing blah-blah-blah with her tongue, can blow kisses two different ways (she's a love not a fighter) and can shreik happily for hours (ok, after a while its really not special....lol!). She also makes my day the way she plays so nicely with her big sister. We recently gave her crayons and she actually didn't eat them, so thats special! haha! she scribble a little with them!

Carolynn was 1 on May 4th! Her "Real" bday (adjusted is June 21st).

~What are they eating??

What is she NOT eating. LOL We started feeding therapy recently and she is LOVING table food...Grilled Cheese, Chix nuggets, potatoes, grilled chicken, pasta (any kind) and her all time fave...Vanilla Pudding. LOL.
No teeth yet, so, we are still breaking up cheerios and will introduce "harder" foods along the way.

~What are they doing?

C just started sitting up unassisted and rolls everywhere!

Cat Naps (sooo annoying..LOL) BUT, will sleep 10-12 hours a night

She is an absolute fighter. I get told by all her therapists "You're gonna have your hands full" LOL
Shes a girly girl..She's NOSEY.
She LOVES Wonderpets and ADORES Bryan!
She's the only grandaughter on my side, so, she's got my dad wrapped (its awesome <3)
She overcame tons of obstacles! She truly is an ABSOLUTE MIRACLE! We fall in love with our Princess more and more every single day! We have a long road ahead, but, One Day At A Time and the journey is fun!

I can't believe its been a year! My little Talia turned 1 on May 28th. I haven't posted much lately..


~What are they eating??

We switched her to milk no problem but she is refusing to drink it from the sippy!! ughhh. She eats everything even likes pickles and olives like her mommy :) She just doesnt eat a lot at once which is a pain so I am basically feeding her all day long.

~What are they doing?

She started walking a week after her birthday and is already trying to run at the park its crazy! She even tried climbing up stairs.
She loves going on bike rides in her baby seat and in her little car that I push her around it. its her fav.

She does a lot of talking but I have no idea what she is saying. I'm pretty sure all she's said so far is woof woof and quack quack. She is able to point lots of stuff out to us though when we ask her where things are which is fun.

~How are we sleeping?
8-7:30ish and a 2 hour nap usually around 12-2. We lost the 2nd nap already :(

~What are they eating??

EH....she's only an EH eater. Some days (and for anyone other than dave or I) - she'll eat like a champ....other days - not so much... When she's in the mood - she LOVES yogurt, turkey breast, cheese and mac & cheese.

~What are they doing?

she's close to walking, but not doing it yet. she's getting more & more brave - letting go of everything before falling down. she's starting to make 'correlations' which just KILLS me. During dinner we were watching the backyardigans and for her birthday, my parents got her the baby couch (it's so cute - but it's the backyardigans)....she looked at the tv, then looked at the couch, did this 3 or 4 times - and then i actually SAW it click and she started squealing and grabbing for the couch...it was soooo cute!

We still only have mommy, daddy, weeeeeeeeeee, yay!

~How are we sleeping?

one of the few areas i can WORSHIP HER FOR....we LOVE our lil' sleeper! we don't have a schedule...it just doesn't work for us. she goes to bed when she's tired, wakes when she wants to (except the 2 days a week i have to take her to the sitter)...and on a normal day - she'll be asleep by 11 or so and won't wake until 11 or 12. GOD BLESS HER!

EVERY single person who meets Em is stunned at how 'good' a baby she is. We were just at a kingergarden graduation party & some family was there (dave's side) that we hadn't seen in a LONG time and i passed Emma off so i could grab stuff from the car and she cried (separation anxiety - we just got back from vacation...so we're dealing with that again).... i told everyone she was tired (she had fallen asleep on the way there) and that i was sorry - she may be cranky. That was the LAST 'sad' peep she made....she played the rest of the time with her toys - ate some pizza...the two people who hadn't met her were like - seriously? that's cranky??? we gained 2 new sitters if we need them...she's just such an angel 99% of the time! :)

oh yeah - we also have 8 teeth now....yeah - EIGHT...

and YES - we're FINALLY getting some HAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

~ concerns

i have concerns about her weight - she's only 20.9 pounds and 30 inches long...the doc said she's not CONERNED (she's NEVER been a huge gainer), but she wants her EATING...and she's not overly interested in eating...so that's fun.

She does drink now only whole milk no more formula as of yesterday!!!

Riley has been walking since 11 month she just turned 1 on the 13th of June!!! Watch out world she doesn't want help either she is a big girl and can do it herself attitude!

I am totally loving this age! Riley is so much fun!! Jeff and I are so in love with her and I just cry when she does something new or she see something is starting to make sense with her!! What a great age!! I can't wait for the summer!!!

Emma has been walking since 9month mos ! She def has us busy and she loves climbing on everything. She loves sesame street (emlo and abby are her fav) and her newest thing is dancing to music.

Emmie does a lot of babbling. She can say mamama, dadadada, babababa, nani, izzie (my parents dog) and can say jay. she also says hi, hey.

She points at everything and remembers where everything is! she waves to everyone and absolutely loves all children. she is just fascinated by them.

Emma sleeps from about 9pm-730 am and takes about 1-2naps a day.

DD turned one on May 21st.

What are they eating??
Morgan is on all table food. She loves anything with potatoes (perogies, roasted potatoes, mashed potatoes)veggies she likes broccoli, sweet potatoes, zucchini, and green beans. She likes all of the all natural applesauces - regular, blueberry, strawberry, and the peach. She can eat goldfish literally all day long if you let her. Yogurt and waffles are breakfast staples. She LOVES LOVES fresh strawberries and canteloupe! She has been on whole milk since May 1st and drinks about 18 oz/day.

~What are they doing?

Morgan has been walking since right after she turned one. She is doing really really well with it. She has to pull herself up still to get to an upright position, but I think that getting there from sitting is next on her list!!!

She also points at everything and has routines in the morning. Points to the blinds to be opened, humidifier to be turned off, and fan to be turned off.

Morgan can say mama, dada, baba, down, more, ow, uh oh, Ella, Deek, hi, Pop-Pop, car - we are working on up.

She is starting to whine a lot. Everything she does has a whine to it. If she falls, she whines, if she is happy, she is still whining. LOL!!!!

~How are we sleeping?
Morgan goes to sleep between 7:30 and 8pm and gets up between 5:30 and 6am. She still takes two one hour naps.

~Special stuff!
She is SOOOO much fun now. She loves to dance with me. Even in the car she will do "rock a baby" and sway back and forth. She knows "if you're happy and you know it" and claps through the whole thing. She loves watching Sesame Street and being outdoors. We take her for a walk almost everynight to Dunkin Donuts so we can get coffee and she gets ONE chocolate munchkin. She knows it too!!!

~We need help with:
She doesn't go to a lot of people. It's either me, DH, or her daycare teachers. She won't go to any family really. We are working on this, but it's very difficult and saddens us and them!

Peter is turning one on the 30th.

~What are they eating??

He loves to eat. He is starting to not want his baby jars, and wants table food. He tries everything that I eat (with some exceptions).

~What are they doing?

He took a few steps the other day. He will walk holding my hand. He crawls all over the place.

He says a few words. Mama, Dada, Baba, Nana, and Brmm for the car. He babbles all day long.

~How are we sleeping?
He still sleeps in the bed with us. He is pretty much sleeping throughout the night. He was recently teething so he was up ever hour for a week.

He loves to be outside. If you ask him he screams and jumps up and down clapping his hand. It's so cute!

I can't believe they are one already. It felt like yesterday we were on the preganancy board.
