MAY Mommies- check-in

Hi,

I see some of us were lucky enough to be April Mommies but thought it would be good to see how everyone is doing since our Month is here (almost)

I am having a hard time. Of course I don't want her to come until she's ready but why isn't she ready. I didn't think I could be more uncomfortable but this last week has been horrible-
She's killing by ribs, back and pelvis,
got my first stretch marks that itch and hurt
skin issues getting worse
and back to throwing up all the time again

I've only been 1cm dilated for a couple weeks. My Dr wants to talk about inducing if she doesn't come naturally this week ( because she thinks she's ready and getting big and I'm just not opening up enough) ....but I don't want to induce I want her to come when she's ready.

The other issue is I've always had 2 due dates. The sono techs have consistently measured me a week behind but my Dr never changed the date, she only changes for 2 weeks or more. She kept saying its a estimate anyway baby will come when ready but now considering inducing

I'm so confused, anxious, scared , etc- basically all emotions wrapped up tightly - I'll just wait in misery, hope this baby comes along on her own and trust my dr's judgement.

Sorry my update is so long- I dont ususally update much but.......

How are you all doing?

Re: MAY Mommies- check-in

Hey
I am in a very similiar situation. I am due tomorrow and my dr has been talking about possible induction for 2 weeks now. I took the biophysical non-stress test last week and the baby looks good-- 7lbs, no problems.

I am totally stressed, because I know tomorrow the dr is going to make me make a decision about induction and I really didnt want to go that road, esp since the baby is not 9 lbs or anything like that.

I have been trying to be active--when are u due?

Re: MAY Mommies- check-in

I'm sorry you're having so much trouble. I'm doing pretty well. My main complaint is feet & ankle swelling that just started Thursday. I do ache at the end of the day, etc. but nothing too much. So far, no signs of labor - I go weekly for a bio-physical sono & appts. with my doctor (gestational diabetes). I think the tiredness is the most annoying of my symptoms. I would love to stop working now, but I have two more weeks to go (I am scheduled for a c-section on 5/17), so hopefully, I will make it to the 11th (my last day of work).

I am anxious & nervous, though, about actually having a baby! This is my first and even though I am 40, I feel like a kid who knows nothing!

Re: MAY Mommies- check-in

I'm doing good.

Had some very painful contractions throughout the night last night.

Nothing lasting more than a few seconds and nothing patterned, so it's most likely false labor.

I go back to the doctor on Wednesday to see if I'm still at 2cm or if I've progressed.

My last day in the office is tomorrow and I pray every morning that my water doesn't break while I'm here!! Chat Icon

I only have 10 days left until my official due date!!!! Chat Icon

DH is betting that I go by Thursday. I'm thinking early next week.

Re: MAY Mommies- check-in

Personally I have had it! I'm not due until 5/19 but I'm done!!!

I'm 4cm and 80% efaced now for about a week. I'm fine with that but have had enough with pelvic bone pain. This might be TMI but I think I cracked or broke the bone back in 2003 when giving birth to my ds. I realized this after my dd was born in 2005. I would be in bed BFing her and if I was htere too long it would ache!

Since then on rainy days and when I sit, lay down or am in one position for too long it hurts. Now I'm to the point where the bone pops when I roll over. It totally freaked my DH the other night. I guess the addded pressure definitly isn't helping. What a great place to break and get arthritis!

I know in the end though it is all worth it and we will LOVE having our babies with us in our arms and loving them!

Re: MAY Mommies- check-in

I'll be 39 weeks tomorrow and due next Tuesday! Chat Icon

At my last visit (last Wed.) I was somewhere between 1 and 2 cm. dilated and "starting to thin out." I have a repeat c-section scheduled for the due date, but if I go early, I am trying for VBAC!!

Overall, I am feeling very good, although walking is difficult and the baby's movement is quite uncomfortable. Oh yeah, and heartburn?!?! Horrible!

Otherwise, I'm not at the "I'm so done" stage.
#1 I really enjoy being pregnant
#2 I am totally freaking out about the c/s...totally!
#3 I cannot imagine managing two children under 2!

So, basically, I NEED MORE TIME! Chat Icon

Feel good everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not due until May 31. I am in NO RUSH. Plenty of things I need/want to do before baby gets here. But I go for weekly appts. now...
