May sound stupid BUT...
If she's in bed and something is wrong she'll start crying right? I am so paranoid about having her awake that when she actually gets quiet I get nervous so I am constantly running upstairs to check on her and probably wake her up some of the time. I am going to borrow my friends video monitor but until then I need some reassurance.

Re: May sound stupid BUT...
Yes she WILL cry. I still worry the same way about Jake. I think ...what if he's just lying there awake and lonely, wondering why we leave him alone for 10 hrs in the dark every night? I know, I'm a freak.
But then, there was the one time...the night he got his first cold, well, let me tell you, I didn't even need the monitor to hear him crying through 2 closed doors.
Plus I know that if he somehow flips onto his belly, he hates it so much that I will hear him in a minute.
DH and I still want to get the video monitor too though because sometimes we hear him stirring an awful lot or sometimes he'll let out a loud whimper in his sleep and we just want to be able to peek in on him without waking him up.

Video monitor is a good idea so you dont wake her up. I do remember when Joseph slept through the first night in his crib. DH & I woke up, looked at the monitor. I said quietly "You don't think he's dead or anything do you?" He jumped out of bed to go poke Joseph.
We are all completely paranoid about ths kind of thing - so it certainly doesn't sound stupid.

OK at least I'm not a total freak. I tried this new routine for her AM nap and GUESS WHAT? 10 minutes and out like a light. She doesn't even cry though. She talks/yells a little then sits in there awake and then goes to sleep.

The baby will cry, but we all fear the "too quiet" time.

Yes, babies will cry when they need something but you aren't alone. We all do it. We all check on them constantly anyway.

I LIVE for the video monitor...and even with that, I still stare at it to see if i can see her breathing...

I'm the same way. I'm constantly going in to check on Kevin when he's napping.
