Maybe someone can help....or offer a referral
Dh and I went to Lowes and Home Depot to look at over the range microwaves. We've measured our new kitchen and we know we can fit a 1.4cu microwave in the space. Here's our dilemma. Neither store will offer us installation b/c there is no pre-existing over the range microwave.
So, where do we go? A staff member at Lowes pulled us aside and suggested we go to PC Richard's - has anyone used them for installation? Are they $$$?
Any help will be appreciated!
Here is the Kitchen:

My DH and his father installed ours...I dont think it is that difficult, of course I didn't watch, but they said since the exaust fan was already there from the exisiting hood, they just connected into that. I think though that PC Richards is pretty reasonable for installations.

It looks like your exhaust fan is blowing back into the room so you need to either one purchase a microhood that does the same thing or have venting pipes run to the outside to vent. PC Richards does do instillation but they can be a little on the pricey side for instillation.

We're getting rid of the hood and replacing it with the above range microwave that will have the exhaust fan and light attached to it.

What I am saying is if you look at the hood you can tell by the vents at the top that it vents back into the house. Most microhoods need to vent outside meaning that you need to run a vent from the back of the microhood to the outside, right now you hood does not look like it is run outside, it looks like it vents back into the house. (the little vents on the top of the hood)

Same as me, and my parents had no problem taking down their vent and replacing it with an over the range microwave......

What I mean that is if you have one that is not vented outside you have to replace it with a microhood that is not vented outside. But if you have a hood that is vented outside you can buy a microhood that vents outside. You can not buy a microhood that vents outside for a hood that does not vent outside (you can but you have to run the venting pipes) The only reason I know this is because we are in the middle of doing a remodle and that is what the contractor told me.
