McArthur aiport vs LGA or JFK

We are thinking of going to Orlando this year with our current 9 month old DD. This is our first flight with her. We usually fly out of JFK or LGA since we live in Queens. We can fly out of McArthur. Thoughts? We will have a stroller with us and probably a car seat.

I would only fly out of Macarthur if it's substantially less money since you are in Queens.

We usually fly JetBlue out of JFK when we go to Orlando - their terminal is great. We've done it ever since DS 1 was an infant.

If I lived in Queens I'd stick with JFK.
I LOVEEEE MacArthur but only because it's 5 min from my house. The flights are usually a lot more money out of there and you have less choice in airlines/flight times too

Is it worth it to schlep all the way to McArthur ?

I'm in Bayside, stay away from LGA ever since the construction started even though it is close and fly in/out of JFK instead.
Would never consider driving to McArthur.

If your in queens LGA it JFK is your best bet.
Islip is way to far. Your looking at an hour there at least depending on traffic and where in queens you are.
I am in and out of JFK almost every week and fly on delta Jetblue and American and never had an issue
I do have tsa precheck and CLEAR from delta so that helps with security quite a bit.
With TSA precheck you don’t have to take off shoes belts laptops liquids. All stay in your bag and shoes stay on.
Yes you can get picked for a random screening. It’s about 1 out of every 10 people who pass through the metal detector.
CLEAR from delta is great you actually cut the entire tsa precheck line and go right to the the X-ray machine belt. They personally escort you and you don’t even need your drivers license. All done with your finger prints on the machine

Stick with Queens. I considered flying out of MacArthur this spring on Southwest but they actually had the highest rates and I'm closer to JFK so we are flying JetBlue instead. If you lived out in Port Jeff then yes but not if you're in Queens.

LOVE flying out of Islip. It's so quiet, quick, and easy. It's only 10-15 minutes from me too which is so much better then hiking over to Queens.

ETA - If you're in Queens, I'd just fly out of JFK or LGA

Haven’t flown out of McArthur... but I would try it if prices are similar.

But prefer LGA because it’s smaller. Parking is not terrible. Does look like a third world country now though.

By the time we get through JFK (even though it’s not under construction), I hope I’m traveling internationally! It’s parking is tight and far and the trains to the terminal to an elevator... ugh!

I’ve flown out of Philly and that has been my favorite. Very well run and sometimes much cheaper. Worth the 2 hour drive!

Also love White Plains. High airfares, but one terminal and nice people.

The negative about smaller airports is that they close first and open last for bad weather.

I would never drive out to ISP if I was in queens unless the prices were dirt cheap. SW isn’t that cheap anymore and not sure Frontiwrnis worth the drive.

Absolutely not. It's never cheaper and the traffic is guaranteed to be a hot mess. I live in Nassau and would never do it. I didn't even know it was a working airport until a year ago.
