Med question: Eye floaters?
I have been seeing spots in my eye for a few weeks now and I just found out from the doc that I have eye floaters. He says he saw no evidence of a retinal tear, which is good. Does anybody else have them or know anything about them? It sux because he says they are going to stay with me for awhile but probably will eventually go away.

I don't know much about them, except that one of my good friends gets them all the time - and she is tormented by them. From my experience with her, she's had them on and off for over 6 or 7 years - - and now she's come to live with them.
Good luck to you!

Thanks for your response. It makes me sad that I will have to learn to live with them, I feel for your friend.

Yes, I have them and just recently my mom got one. Hers is like a spider web that takes over her whole eye, and then goes away. I feel really bad for her. I've had them for years and really I don't even notice them anymore.

Thanks Tracey. Thats what the doc told me, that after awhile they just become part of your life and thus barely noticeable.

Re: Med question: Eye floaters?
That totally stinks!! My dad had them but they were due to a retinal detachment he had to have repaired. Are they serious that you will have to live with this?? I would check out a second opinion..I'm so sorry!!

I know nothing about eye floaters - but they don't sound fun.
I hope you feel better soon!

sorry to hear that. Do they still irritate you or have they become part of your life?

Re: Med question: Eye floaters?
I know nothing about this but have a question. My eyes blur up and I am actually hesitant about going to the doc. I now feel like I have to wear my glasses all the time cause of the bluriness. I know I have to go but Im kinda scared

Re: Med question: Eye floaters?
Are you nearsighted at all? You mentioned wearing glasses all the time now, could it be possible your eyes need a stronger prescription? Thus the reason for constantly needing glasses? I really don't know, though. There are so many different eye conditions, and a lot of them are now treatable even by laser. Don't be scared though, better to have it checked out.
