Medical Insurance: Unicare - How is It?

New job and new medical insurance, never heard of Unicare--who has it and any feedback (pro/con).

Thanks!

I've never heard of them, but I checked AM Best and it looks like they have a lot of $$ backing them...so that's good news.Chat Icon

Re: Medical Insurance: Unicare - How is It?

DH has them. His coverage (amt he pays/unicare pays) is good, but he once had a hard time finding an in-network doctor for a specific test. He didn't want to go out-of-network, so he had to go to Rockland County for the test.

Mileage wise, it was wasn't that far to go for us, but since we're not familiar with the area, it was like going to another planet!
