Mediterranean Cruisers
We are going on a 12 night cruise in August - Greek Isles, Italy, Croatia, Turkey - and I am researching excursions now. For those of you who have cruised already, which ports did you do on your own, and which did you book excursions for through your cruiseline? We are cruising Princess if that matters.
Thank you!

Re: Mediterranean Cruisers
We did a Med. Cruise for our Honeymoon- 11 nights
we went to Mykonos (did our own thing- we had a tour planned but it got cancelled so we went off on our own and we did fine! Had a nice relaxing time- it was our first port and we were still jet lagged too- I fell alseep on the beach for two hours I think...
Rhodes (did an excursion to the beach and then walked around town on our own) ,
Santorini (went on an excrusion-did a winery tour/wine tasting/town tour and then went off on our own a bit),
Athens (We did an excursion-went to the Acropolis/etc...city tour-the one you actually get off the buses and see the sites though)
Kusadasi, Turkey- we went to 3 ruins on a tour
Istanbul Turkey- we did a two day tour- so worth it - it took us everywhere we wanted to go, had a tour guide... this was a great tour!
Naples- We went to Capri and Sorrento- we did this one our own- and we had no issues at all- we saw what we wanted to see and don't regret not having a tour- by this point (our last stop) we were all "toured" out anyway...
Rome- when we got off ship and next day- we were on our own and did fine as well!
