The lone winning Mega Millions lottery ticket -- worth $206 million -- was purchased Tuesday night at a King Kullen store in Middle Island, the New York Lottery said.
The winning numbers 23, 32, 33, 39, 43 and a mega ball of 8 were found on one winning ticket nationwide, the lottery said at its website.
The Tuesday jackpot is the largest for a winning lottery ticket sold on Long Island.
The previous high was in May, when 20 workers from the Melville Costco store split a $201.9-million Powerball ticket.
In January 2010, Richard and Mary Morrison of Miller Place won $165 million in the Mega game.
There have been six Mega jackpots of $300 million or more, and the 10th highest jackpot is $266 million, according to a list at megamillions.com.
Mega Millions is the largest multistate lottery game, offered in 42 states plus the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Three second-place tickets matching all five numbers -- but not the mega ball -- also were sold in New York. Each second-place prize is worth $250,000.
Overall, 16 second-place tickets for Tuesday's jackpot were sold nationwide.
