Memphis rest./attraction recommendations?
I'm going this weekend to Graceland (it was my Dad's 50th bday gift). Any suggestions for reasonable restaurants? Diners for breakfast? Pubs for dinner? We're staying at the Peabody.

No recommendations....just wanted to say I'm jealous. I want to go to Graceland so bad! I'll be 40 on the 16th and I really wanted to go for my b-day. But it didn't work out. Can't believe it's 30 yrs already that he's been gone I LOVE the king Please take pics, I would love to see them.

Aww, happy early birthday! My Dad is SOOOOO excited for this trip. She jokes that at an Elvis Impersonating concert, he's the only man that goes up for a scarf b/c that's the kind of fan he is

The Peabody is beautiful!
We went to Memphis a few years ago and had a great time.
We went to a good bbq restaurant around the corner from the Peabody, I can't remember the name.
Beale St is a lot of fun!
Just be careful, parts of the city are very shady (and they aren't that far from the good parts).

Re: Memphis rest./attraction recommendations?
The Peabody has a super nice brunch on Sunday and a lounge in the lobby for drinks after watching the ducks go upstairs.
Corky's is a fabulous rib place but it's a decent cab ride from downtown but totally worth it.
There's a rib place across from BB King's restaurant on Beale Street that has the best ribs ever. You would never believe it looking at it from the outside (or even the inside) but they were delish!
There's a Pat Obrien's there which is fun for the dueling piano bar if there's a crowd. We ended up sitting in the courtyard b/c dumb songs were being requested and we ran out of ideas. Hopefully you have much better luck with that!
I was so disappointed that we only saw one Elvis Impersonator and it was in a coffee shop type place.
