menorah and christmas tree in Long Beach
Is anyone else offended by this? Not to be rude to all those celebrating Christmas but how often are menorah's smaller than Christmas trees; how many aisles and aisles of Christmas decorations do you see when Chanukah gets a measely little tiny section (if at all).
I don't know why but this was very offending to me.

Yeah, I have to agree it's a bit obnoxious. You're right - Christmas overpowers Hankuh 99% of the time, so why not let one menorah be bigger? It's about the holiday spirit, anyway. Not the size of a tree and menorah. That guy saying it was going to be a "bah-humbug Christmas" because of it was being a tad dramatic.

I am rarely offended by the representations of Chanukah because it is a minor holiday. IMO, it is only equated with Christmas because it falls around the same time of year and there is a gift exchange. Chanukah is not found in the bible whereas most significant Jewish holidays are. To me, its like comparing apples and oranges.

I thought it was funny just because I am from LB and my friends and I used to laugh about the little scraggly Charlie Brown tree.
