mental health days and calling in?
When you take a mental health day or for me I would like to take a day if I dont sleep right the night before or something, Do you call and pretend you are sick.? My boss is such a wich I get anxiety about calling in. We get unlimited sick time but it is frowned upon to use it.

I do it - some days you just need to decompress. I just say I am not feeling well and will be taking a sick day. I earned them so I don't feel bad using them.

I suffer from migraines and usually say I have one if I'm calling in sick for a mental health day since with meds they generally come and go in a day (so I don't have to pretend to have a cold or something when I go back the next day!! )

I call in & just tell them what is up. Most of the time i am honest. My boss is very low key & understandable...

i usually know ahead of time if i am going to take a mental health day, and it's never a problem b/c we don't need a doctor's note or anything - no one cares when/why you use your sick days (county jobs are weird like that )
if i call in that morning, i just say i'm sick - if they ask i usually just say i'm not feeling well, and leave it at that.
