Messenger style diaper bags?

I bought myself one from the Coach outlet today. I really like it, but was wondering if the messenger bag flap on top would make it too difficult to use.

I think as long as the flap seals the contents of the bag well enough you should be OK. There have been many instances where I'm juggling a bunch of stuff (including the baby), the bag hanging on it's side and about to topple over.

Also, pockets and sections are also important. I found having segments/pockets/zippers inside of the bag very useful with a newborn. It keeps everything in place and you won't be fumbling to look for the paci, house keys, burp rag, etc....
