Metformin girls
Do any of you experience a very bad burning in your stomach that comes and goes? I have acid reflux that I take meds for everyday and every couple of months I get this burning that just will not let up no matter what I take. I went to a GI Dr. and he said he thinks it's the metformin advised I switch to Glumerta (Brand name for Metformin). He said that you don't have as many side effects on it. Anyone else experience this?

I've had a few stomach issues on the Met, but never anything like you've described. I do get some horrible stomach cramps, but I don't think it's ever felt like burning.

No, not at all. Actually, since I've been following WW and taking Met, I've had very little heartburn (knock wood).
The horrible stomach cramps and other bad stomach issues, yes.

I have been on Metformin for a few months and I have been suffering from such bad indigestion. I use to have Acid reflux so I thought it was coming back from all of my stress. This makes more sense since it started around the same time I started the Metformin.
