Methotrexate Question (long)
I'm not even sure where to post this, but I figured I would try here first. I'm 8 weeks postpartum- spotted for the first 4 weeks then the bleeding got heavier and has been going since then (now it goes from brown spotting to bright red bleeding with clots). I have been to the OB, they did a sono to see if there was a piece of placenta left and they didn't see anything. I had a pregnancy test to see if I was still producing HCG and it came back borderline (9). My OB isn't quite sure what is going on and gave me the options of waiting it out, taking oral methotrexate to clear out the uterus, or go in for a D&C. She said she felt the D&C was a bit aggressive right now but if I wanted it we could do it. I'm just torn about taking the medication and was wondering what side effects are normal from it. I know it's commonly given after ectopics and I'm not even sure if it's going to correct my problem.

Re: Methotrexate Question (long)
I took it after I had my d&c from a miscarriage and there were not any side effects. The pill does make your uterus contract though so I was having mild contractions and then sorry if TMI, but I would feel a gush. I don't remember how long it lasted. Good luck.
