Metoformin Question
Hello -
After going for a 2nd opinion with a new doctor (will post a more detailed post about that appointment prob. tomorrow). She prescribed metformin 3x per day.
For those of you on Met, do you take it with your meals? If not, how or when do you take it?

I take mine after dinner. I was instructed to take 3 pills at one time. I know some of the other girls take 1 pill 3x's a day.

I actually take mine right before I go to bed so I don't feel much of the side effects. I take 2 pills (1000mgs) at the same time....slowly making my way up to 1500mgs. Good luck.

I am on 3x a day and I always take it with food.
ETA- The dr had me start with 1 a day the 1st week
2 a day the 2nd week and 3 a day the 3 week until present.
It helped minimize the possibility of an upset stomach.

I take 750 mg with breakfast and 750 mg with dinner. I am on the extended realease but the doctor still told be to take it twice daily.

Yesterday, they knocked me on my azz, glad it was a work from home today. Today feeling okay, but a little "fuzzy"

When I started, I took it right after dinner. Now that the stomach side-effects have faded and I am up to 3 pills a day, I take it right before I go to bed. I feel like an old person with all my pills at bedtime

When I started Metformin my stomach was a mess. But its better now (occasional stomach problems).
I take 2x/day with meals. I'm on 2000mg (2x500mg 2x daily).

Like one of the pp's , I take it right before I go to bed, so I can sleep through any side effects. It has worked so far.
