mexico with 9 month old
are we crazy doing this? we just booked a trip. we're flying first class on the way down, but there is a layover. We're staying at a wyndam resort and have a whole suite with kitchenette and stuff. i have a feeling dd will be walking by then, don't know if that will help or hinder us.
anyone done anything similar?

I think it will be great! We did Disney at almost 8 months and then Mexico at 21 months. Life doesn't end because you had a baby. Have a great time! And wohoo for 1st class. That will be awesome.

We are cruising out of Ft. Lauderdale, so I was going to try to head this off by buying bottled water and walking it on the ship.
I don't know how flying in to avoid it though

The water you drink on the ship is perfectly safe - they desalinization the water on the cruise ships - but you will need bottled water for land tours - also many people forget when on land and get ice in their sodas or alcoholic drinks if it is made with local water you can have a problem from that. You shouldn't get montezuma's revenge if you do that - also remember not to drink any fruits or vegetables that might have been washed in local water - if you eat fruit peel it first.

Re: mexico with 9 month old
I went to Mexico with my 10 month old who was walking and I was 6 months pregnant. We had a great time! No worries at a resort since they have bottled water.
ETA: We did not buy an extra seta. The plane wasn't full so they gave us one.

I was also going to say not to eat fruit or vegies unless you peal the fruit. You can eat cooked vegies but not salad because they may not wash it properly and you can get sick that way. If you are staying in a major resort area of Mexico, all hotels use water that is safe so you can have ice in your drinks. If they didn't use purified water everyone would be sick.
Have fun!!!
