Michelle Wolf's WHCD speech?
Any thoughts on Michelle Wolf's White House Correspondent's Dinner speech?
I enjoyed most of it. Wasn't thrilled with the joking about abortion, but she's a comedian, so I didn't go into a crazy frenzy about it. She did however touch on a key point about several Conservatives being totally against abortion... until their mistress needs one...
Some of the biggest issues people had with her was that she used the exact same words as IQ45...
When IQ45 says "grab em by the p****", it's "locker room talk". When a female comedian says it, they want to destroy her career.
When IQ45 insults people, both about their physical attributes, speech patterns, their wives and family, etc, he's just being him.
When a female comedian does a tiny fraction of what he does, they are screaming about how terrible she is.

They're all a bunch of hypocrites. Besides, isn't the WHCD usually a roast? They should have known what they were getting themselves into.

Comedian or not, female or not, it’s disgusting and I have no respect for anyone joking about abortion. Anything else that comes out of her mouth isn’t worth listening to after that.

I think the outrage is ridiculous. Trump and his administration bring all this on themselves. They can dish it out but they can't take it. Although the difference between Trump making fun of people is he doesn't do it lightheartedly or for laughs, he does it maliciously. Sarah Sanders is ridiculously sarcastic all the time, she chose to sit there knowing what would be coming. Everyone sitting in that room knows they're fair game for jokes. My only issue was I didn't get most of the jokes about Sarah Sanders so it wasn't funny to me which made it awkward. I guess i need to watch Handmaid's Tale. The abortion jokes don't bother me. It's comedy, not much is off limits in my book. I just think it's all Trump's fault that he has a hostile relationship with the press and can't show his face let alone take part. I don't think that means it should be thrown out the window forever. I sincerely hope our next president can go back to having an open relationship with the press bc otherwise we're in much bigger trouble than a few people being offended by some jokes.

They're just jokes. You probably laugh at something that someone else finds completely offensive. My son has severe food allergies and I see the community up in arms any time a comedian makes a joke about it, but it doesn't bother me b/c they're all just jokes. Sometimes the point is to shock and to say crazy things - doesn't mean the person believes it.
There's a difference between saying something for shock/comedy than something that's said because they really mean it (like Michael Richards getting upset b/c someone was heckling him and he lashed out calling them the N word).
I'm more offended that people still blindly believe in Trump after all the horrible things he's said and done (making fun of disabled people, saying offensive things about women who are overweight, admitting that he sexually assaults women, sexualizing young teens, etc) than I am over someone's joke - no matter what the topic is about.

I cringed at the knock that baby out of there part but whatever, I don't take offense to things said by comedians.
And the part about the secret mistress- yeah, spot on.

I didn’t compare trump and this lady on who is the worst. Just bc he’s a lowlife and spews terrible things doesn’t make her any better for joking about killing babies. Bc while I’m pro-choice, bc I don’t believe in telling someone what to do with their body, I’m completely against it morally and believe life begins at conception so abortion is killing a child. I’ve honestly never heard a joke before that has made me so angry and sick, shocked me yes, but to actually joke about such a horrible topic is not something I’ll ever respect. But we can agree to disagree, I’m sure many people agree with you, that it wasn’t a big deal.

That is pretty over the top, IMO, and I'm staunchly pro-choice. There is a line and she crossed it. But the part about the Republicans being ok when it's their mistress is appropriate.
I actually hadn't heard about that either, till I opened this thread. It seemed like most of the outrage was directed at the comments about Sarah Sanders which I did feel was appropriate as she stands up there every day, lies, and condescends to the press.

is it bad I chuckled when I read this? I chuckled while thinking that's an f'ed up joke but kinda funny.
I do tend to chuckle at offensive jokes ... I know there wrong but I don't get offended by them and can have a good laugh at it.

I thought most of it was pretty funny. TBH, I really don't get what everyone is up in arms about, especially with regards to Sarah Sanders. She really didn't say anything SO offensive about her. And fact is, she is a freaking liar so there's that.
People are being too sensitive about the whole thing. First, she's a comedian and it's her job to be funny, cross the line and be edgy. Secondly, anyone who takes offense at her COMEDY but yet isn't upset by the litany of insults, rude comments, and nasty remarks that fly from 45's face on a daily basis is a freaking hypocrite and should shut up.
