Microsoft conspiracy
Why do they make two programs like MS word and MS works that are not compatible with each other? How is it that my document was saved as .mps and Word doesnt recognize it? Grrrrrrrr!!!

You can't use "Save As" as a workaround?
I agree they need an import feature for their other products. I've never used Works.

Re: Microsoft conspiracy
I worked on something from home in works and emailed it to my sister who has word. Sent it back to me at work and I also opened it in word and it looked like

Re: Microsoft conspiracy
Do they still make MS Works? I thought they scrapped it years ago.
Yes, see if you can do a Save As, and at the bottom where it says "Save as type", click the drop down and choose .doc Document.
I hate Works. My sister had it for years and I had to convert all her stuff to Word.
If you don't like any MS stuff, do a google search for Open Office. Looks a lot like it, is compatible with MS programs and is FREE.

Re: Microsoft conspiracy
if you can't save it as a .doc - save it as a .txt file - however w/the .txt file - you'll lose the formatting.

Re: Microsoft conspiracy
Really? I just bought this computer about a year ago with MS works all ready installed. I'll look into that other program you listed. Thanks!

MS works is still around and it comes preloaded on most computers. You have to pay extra to get Word insatlled. It usually comes in the Microsoft office package with Excel and powerpoint.
I would save it as text, then cut and paste it into word. you will most likely need to reformat though.

Re: Microsoft conspiracy
What's even better, is that M$ Word 2003 is not 100% compatible with any other version of M$ Word. Bringing in an older document into a newer version often causes problems, reformats things, etc. It's been that way for as long as I can remember.
