Mid-Section

I lost 20 pounds so far...30 more to go.

I haven't lost any weight in my mid-section.

Until that happens, can someone please recommend something I can buy to flatten out the mid-section? I have a wedding in March and want to buy a flattering dress.

Also, any suggestions on how to tighten up the mid-section or do I have to wait until I lose more weight to see the mid-section get smaller?

TIA

ITA with Spanx and totally agree with the ones the PP posted!

Edited to say no advice on shrinking the midsection...I'm on the thin side, but I still have a belly and always have!

Assets from Target - it's a sister brand to Spanx and much cheaper.

Congrats!

What does your diet and workout routine consist of?

I never completely lost my little tummy after kids, but the no carb/heavy raw food, lean proteins, unprocessed food and combo of cardio/strenth (ie interval trng) is really what got me flatter.

Plus, toning arms, shoulders and legs, make attention go there and seems to slim the waist!!

Good luck!

I cut out the bagel for breakfast...eat cereal now.

I drink lots of water. I bought a 32oz bottle and drink water throughout the day.

I eat salad with dinner (most nights) instead of potatoes.

I don't do much exercise, even though I know that I should.

Re: Mid-Section

I've always heard "great abs are made in the kitchen, not the gym". Meaning that what you eat has a lot to do with your stomach distention.

Since I've started paying close attention to hydration, water weight, foods that cause gas, foods that cause not-so-great bathroom trips... I've realized that it doesn't take much to make me bloat. Unfortunately a lot of the good food you eat with fiber can cause upset as well.

As far as spanx-type things go, one mistake I've made is getting them too tight, thinking they'd make me look better. But I got a muffin top type of result. So I'd consider one that goes from above your knees all the way up and has shoulder straps or not go so tight on the ones that go to the waist. Good luck Chat Icon

Re: Mid-Section

I've been told that you won't see any definition or toning in your midsection unless u lose the fat first. You cant build muscle over fat. Some people lose weight first in different places rather than others first. You might be losing weight in your hips and thighs first or a different area. You will get there!
