Mid-Suffolk Pediatrics? No interview!!???
HI girls!
I just called Mid-Suffolk Pediatrics to make an interview apt with Dr. Kee. The receptionist told me that they are so busy all the time that she does all the interviewing! This is very frustrating as I just want to meet the Dr and ask his/her phisosophies. Has anyone run into other situations like this w/ calling other dr's for interviews?

Honestly, I prefer that they don't use the doctors for interviews. Imagine how much time would be taken out of the doctors' day if they were interviewing with all potential patients? I do use the practice and the interview is very informative. You get to tour the facilities, get a very informative binder, and you do get to meet a doctor or two. I have seen a bunch of different doctors in the practice and have my preference. If you do go with them and they have hospital rights - they will go see the baby and then come see you in the hospital. In that case, you get whatever doctor is doing rounds that day. After that - you can choose who you use for routine and well visits.

The pediatrician that we plan to use does not do interviews either. She is in a practice on her own and the office manager said that it would take away too much time from her patients. But, she is the ped that my sister used for her girls so I have no hesitation in going ahead without interviewing her.

When I was searching for a ped, I found many didn't do interviews, or they only did them at certain times.
I did a phone interview with the practice I ended up choosing (it was during flu season and they didn't want me to come into the office).

they told me that as well and said I can just come in to pick up print outs or something about how they run the office and stuff.... I said no thank you and hung up. I called the next person I had on the list and we made an appt - sat down with him for about 15 minutes where we were at least able to feel him out and know that we liked him. It was also nice to feel like you somewhat "know" them when he came to the hospital for the check up on my DD.

I use Mid-Suffolk Pediatrics. And yes, you can only interview with the office manager. I had an appt scheduled with them and DS ended up being born before my appt (5 weeks early) so I ended up just bringing him in there when he came home from the hospital.

Re: Mid-Suffolk Pediatrics? No interview!!???
We use Mid Suffolk (for 3 yrs now) and when I was pregnant they didn't have us meet a particular doctor for the interview. We met with a receptionist who showed us around, gave us a packet of info and asked if we had questions. It was thorough enough, we were happy.
As far as the practice, we LOOOOOOOVE them. We've seen Dr. Kee, she is lovely. Our favorite though and primary doctor there is Dr. Berman. He is AWESOME! We just love him! The whole practice is wonderful, we have no problems getting appts, they take us on time, and they are always available for sick visits when they come up. They are also open 7 days a week which is great! We're very happy there.
** They were also GREAT after delivery. They were at the hospital every day to see my DD. (I delivered at St. Charles) **

I was just there today.
They are great. All of the Dr's are awesome! Great hours! The nurses are so nice! They never rush you, yet are always on time.
We usually see Dr Seretoff, but I've been happy with ALL of the Drs.
