Might be TMI... boils/cysts?
Does anyone know how to bring them to a head? I've been using a hot compress but no luck.
TIA

Sorry, the only thing I've heard of is hot compresses. Hope it goes away soon - those things hurt!

my mom's remedy was always Epson Salt & Very Warm Water.
Same here. My sister used to get them all of the time.

ugh i know those are so terribly painful. keep using the hot compresses. also- call your doctor-he might give you a topical antibiotic- b/c if it turns to cellulitis- it's ugly.

I usually have to have them drained, I'm trying not to go that route.

Yea, I rather not do that, of course if I have to then I will.... but they usually drain on their own. I'm just trying to help it along.

Re: Might be TMI... boils/cysts?
i have one of those home remedy lists... it says to put tomato paste and cover with a guaze. The acid in the tomatoes bring it to a head.
Or there is a cream you can get at CVS or something called ichthammol (sp?) it is used to draw it up.. it takes about 4 days to bring it up but it also takes the pain away. The only bad thing is that it is black, stains and smells like motor oil.

Re: Might be TMI... boils/cysts?
i just read on the internet that once it comes to a head, it's OK to steralize a needle and nick it as long as it is a small boil and it isn't spreading (if it spreads- it is bad- taht happened to be once in my eare).

Re: Might be TMI... boils/cysts?
Sounds weird, but put a blob of honey on it & cover with a bandaid overnight -- it's worked 2 times for me.
Feel better

Yea, I'm waiting until it comes to a head then I'll probably prick it or they sometimes pop by themselves. Thanks

Def. go to the dermatalogist. I have had to have 2 drained, and was gladI did. The one I thought was not infected was, and I had to go on antibiotics. Feel better!
