MIL Vent/Question

My MIL is driving me crazy. Whenever she gets in my car, or comes to our house, she tells me I am going to give my kids asthma because I have an air freshener in the car and I burn oil at home. She doesn't drop it and she even says in front of people, "She is making my Grandbabies sick" with a smile on her face.

First I just wanted to vent because she is soooo annoying sometimes. Second does anyone know if what she is saying is actually true? It sounds ridiculous to me that such things can cause asthma.(I can see it setting it off if you already have it)

Oy, she's a toughie. I hate when my MIL makes stupid comments in front of others. All I can tell you is ignore her and don't let her get to you.

I would say "please show me where you're getting your facts from"... ugh dont you just love when people question your parenting?

Right, and I should add that I've been burning candles and have Febreze plug ins everywhere, since DD was born

I've never heard of that. I burned a lot of scented candles and had a lot of air freshners when DS was a baby and he doesn't have any issues with breathing.

I have heard it before....basically, strong scents can agravate lung function for people who have asthma.
eta: Sorry your MIL is annoying you. It would annoy me if anyone was saying something I disagreed with repettively and to everyone under the sun. But on this one I agree w/ your MIL, but not her methods.
