milk allergy moms
what foods with milk did you start your child on to see if they outgrew the allergy? I remember them saying cheese and I believe yogurt (not sure) but I know they said no ice cream or real milk.
thanks

Re: milk allergy moms
DS's allergist does testing each year and once those show slight to no allergy he'll do a challenge test in the office. We've never tried anything on our own at home.

based on how he reacted to formula, my sons reaction was to get a stomachache, and then diarrhea about a day later...
does your daughter have an instant reaction?

I know your son has a severe allergy....just wondering if you went to the allergist on your own, or if your dr sent you there.

The pediatrician sent us after they got back his blood allergy tests. Initially they thought it was just a milk protein allergy, but when most of his symptoms didn't clear up after being on Neocate for a while they decided to test further.
ETA: Good luck! I hope he outgrew it!

she'd usually get a rash around her mouth pretty quickly if she ate anything with milk in it, then a rash on her vagina and then the stomach cramping and diarrhea came last.
I will say she did fine with yogurt, but still had a reaction to a cookie with milk in it.
Once she passed finally "passed" eating something with milk in it (other than yogurt) we did a RAST (?) test and confirmed she was no longer allergic. We still "eased" into milk products. She outgrew it at 2 years old.
