Milk from sippy - no go with Ethan!
My dear sweet Ethan completely refuses milk from the sippy cup and goes nuts when I try to push it and refuse the bottle. If i hold out and do not give him the bottle he will hold out and won't drink the milk from the cup. He has never been a great eater - rather he snacks all day. His lack of milk drinking does NOT improve his eating - go figure my weird child!
I have tried many many many different kinds of cups - including the Nuby, Gerber & Playtex ones...among others.
He drinks water absolutely fine from the sippy. He is particular about juice and ONLY drinks it from the gerber cup with the straw (what a little weirdo!).
Most of the time when I offer him the milk from the sippy he goes nuts and flat out refuses it without even trying it. Occassionally he will take a sip and then say "NO NO NO" and throw the cup.
Please share your ideas/tactics/sympathy - anything!
I'm at my witts end. Ethan will be 18 months old in 2 wks.

Re: Milk from sippy - no go with Ethan!
Sarah only drinks juice and water from the ones with straws. She'll drink milk from the Gerber insulated ones. She never had a problem switcing from bottles to milk sippys, but my ped. told me ahead of time that if she did, I had to keep trying for a few days of giving her only sippys and eventually she'd give in. Good luck!

Re: Milk from sippy - no go with Ethan!
i am having the same problem. my son will only drink milk from the bottle, and once in a while from those cups that have the snap on lids i think theyre the portable platex ones. But he will drink water&juice from the sippy cup.
Mr dr suggested that I try giving him milk in a regular cup during meals, which i tried yesterday for the 1st time, i gave it to him in a plastic espresso cup (the size of a shot glass) and he was excited to have his"own big boy cup". SO it worked out well (so far!)
the only thing with this is you have to watch every sip bc they can choke and spill it, but it teached them to drink like adults....thats all I can suggest to ou for now until I figure out how to get rid of the night bottle that he just wont let go of! edited to say-I was worried that by taking away his bottle, he wasnt getting enough milk/vitamins- bc usually he would have (3) 8 oz bottles a day- my dr told me that I shouldnt worry about him not drinking milk-at this age(18 months) he can get the same vitamins from different things-broccoli-oj w/calcium-just try to give him lots of different healthy food-plus his reg vitamins. Good luck!

I had this problem too.
I finally found a cup that kind of looks like a bottle but has a different top and it works- we were able to get rid of her bottle completely. It has a top like the nuby sippys but the rest looks more like a bottle. My plan is to switch to the nuby cup next. This is it but it comes with a nipple and a sipper spout. I got it at BRU.
