Milk question while traveling
What do you do about milk when you travel. We are going to disney in March. A lot of the restaurant I see only offer 1% milk.

He'd have to have it for a week. I thought they need the fat in milk? He is not a good eater so I like him to drink whole milk.

Re: Milk question while traveling
One week shouldn't be bad. Remember that 1% milk still has 25% of fat of regular milk. (Regular milk is 4%) And most of the restaurants I worked in had 2%, so that's half the fat.

Re: Milk question while traveling
I don't give my kids whole milk, so that wouldn't be a problem with me, but if I were in your position, I would just give him the 1%. One week isn't going to make a big difference.

Re: Milk question while traveling
You are right, they need the fat...but I think they can survive a week. Besides you will have opportunities to buy him some whole milk. Do you have a fridge in the room? Give him whole milk in mornings in insulated sippy cup if it means that much to you.

Re: Milk question while traveling
I agree, one week won't do any damage but you could also buy the shelf stable whole milk boxes...

Re: Milk question while traveling
Give DC some icecream for treats, if that would ease your mind. There's more than enough fat in icecream, and DC will love it!

Re: Milk question while traveling
I sent ahead a few sets of boxed whole milk. On the go they drank the boxed, in the restaurants they had the milk on hand.

Re: Milk question while traveling
If you are really concerned about it why not buy him whole milk at a grocery store. Most hotels will provide a refrigerator if you request one. You can take a cooler pack and pack it with ice and carry the milk with you.
