mini vent about newborn photog...

so im not going to post names, because i have no actual experience w/this photog yet...

but have to vent...

i have booked a newborn photog, a vendor from here, to do the photos once LO is here...

recently DH and I decided to add on the maternity shoot as well,

well, the last couple of times emailing with this vendor, I haven't gotten anything back!!

I emailed asking about the maternity shoot before it was confirmed, and she said she never got the email and was happy I followed up...gave me the possible dates for the shoot, wanted to see pics of me to recommend colors/outfits for the shoot...

well I responded over 2 weeks ago choosing the date i wanted, attached the pics, and been waiting to hear back about all of this...with the hecticness of the holidays I totally didn't even realize she never even emailed back to confirm the date and time of the shoot, say that she got pics, or anything!

so I just emailed her again this morning, cuz now i have 4 days to the supposed shoot, nothing in mind to wear, and no idea if the shoot is even scheduled and planned and I'm freaking out cuz if the date isn't available now, if she says she "didnt get my email" again, then there are no other dates because the other day she proposed is not good for me...I'm worried I'm going to get screwed out of my maternity pics because it is too last minute now to expect anyone else to be able to do them!!

and then that makes me nervous for LO's newborn shoot!!! is the same thing going to happen???

ahhh I just hope that she gets back to me ASAP to put my worries aside!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess my mini vent turned out not so mini...I hate stressing aboutall this stuff right now...thanks for reading!!

I would be stressed as well. I am a planner soI need to know every.single.detail. is confirmed. Is there a number where you can reach them? If you do not feel comfortable I would start looking for another vendor to do LO's newborn shoot.

I understand that the holidays are an extremely busy time so I can understand if their response is not as quick as normal BUT they should STILL respond. It's the professional thing to do.

yeah exactly...the last email was Dec 10...and we emailed like the 9th and 10th, I responded right away, so figured that was plenty of time before the holidays to have a response...

I spoke w/so many others though and this one is very affordable...

although my friend just recommended the one she used, and she's just starting out so supposedly she's very reasonable also...I may contact her *just in case* and see

Personally, I'd find someone else. If she's this unresponsive now, what happens after she already has your $ if you don't like the pics?

that's what I'm worried about...and I'm just going to be so upset if I don't get to do maternity pics...

I just contacted another photographer and I'm hoping that she has availability!!!

Not returning an email in a week is not a good sign no matter who it is unless you check their FB and see they are having email issues which even then I would see if you can make a phone call if you truly want to book this individual.

Most photographers will get a date/time/discussion over some details of what happens at the session and then send you a contract out. Usually clothing and tiny details are discussed after a contract is signed and/or deposits are made. I think its best to contact others since many newborn photogs book months in advance. Maternity shots are easier to find a photographer more so then a newborn specialist.
