Minnow (My No) is 7 Today.
I didn't know if I would love my 2nd child. I spent a good part of my pregnancy hugging Robbie and wondering how I could feel the way I felt about him for ANYONE else. I worried for this new little person growing inside of me. I worried for myself too.
And even after he was born - the chaos of the moment - a brief introduction before they whisked him away. I doubted. I cried.
And then - after Rob had gone to collect Robbie - the nurses brought me my newborn son. I remember being wary and anxious as they placed him in my arms. I looked at him - and instead of the unfocused gaze of a newborn - I swear he was staring at me with that same sweet expression he still has today. A steady gaze full of humor and laughter and love.
Something in my burst and whatever limits I thought my heart might have had shattered in a heartbeat. In the space it took to blink I had fallen in love all over again. My son. My No.
He's grown so much in 7 years - he's artistic and passionate and observant and hilarious. He is charming and handsome and charismatic and he has this amazing singing voice that never ceases to amaze me. He hero worships his big brother and thinks his dad is Superman. And me? I hung the moon. And he's such a mush. He expresses his love so freely - he's full of hugs and cuddles and snuggles and kisses. He is daring and courageous and brave. And he is still full of humor and love.
I'm gratified that I have been given the privilege of raising such an exceptional human being. And as challenging as he can be - I look forward to watching him become a man. I'm a lucky, lucky lady.

Happy 7th to your baby. Could he be any cuter?? When you posted that last pic a few weeks back I thought he was eating from a big bowl of pasta, but I see it's cake batter. LOL
