Miracle Blanket Q - For first days home...Please help...I have a screaming baby on my hands!
I have the miracle blanket and was planning on using it right away based on the reviews on here. But, did you use it as early as a few days home from hospital? My DS is on the small side (6lbs, 12oz) and the miracle blanket is SWIMMING on him which seems to lose its effectiveness. Any advice? What am I doing wrong? TIA
I have tried swaddling with other blankets but just can't get it tight enough cause he is always squirming!

Hi, first off congrats!!!
It said you can fold up the foot flap so his feet are touching the bottom...maybe that will help?

I didn't use mine until she was 4 weeks old -- before that I was able to do a good enough job with a stretchy receiving blanket. At 4 weeks the blanket stopped working so I upgraded to the Miracle Blanket. I'm not sure I understand how it could swim on him other than the extra length in the feet. The shoulders/arms should be snug...

I used receiving blankets to swaddle DD in the beginning. She too was TINY when we brought her home (5lbs) so she was swimming in anything else. The regular receiving blankets work just fine.

When we came home from the hospital I swaddled DS is the hospital blankets. I stole a bunch. They were good for about the first three weeks and then he outgrew them (he was close to 10lbs though)

When I first brought DS home, I used a regular blanket to swaddle him.

I didn't use it till about 6 weeks. It shouldn't be swimming on your DC, though, if you are pulling it tight. Does it say anything about when to use it (i.e. if it's okay for newborns)?
ETA: Here is a link that shows exactly how to use it (very helpful for the visual learners out there ):

I used the Swaddle Me Brand...size small from the beginning. I found the MB was too big for DS at first
