Miralax--- Need advice, an ear or a shoulder
Is anyone else's child on it? If so can I ask how often you give them it and how much.
My daughter has been on it and we were told to start weening her. We were down to every 2 days. Well yesterday my daughter made a poop----- WAY TOO MUCH TMI HERE--- PROCEED WITH CAUTION-----
that was so large that when I plopped it out of the diaper into the toilet to flush it was so large- 1 it didn't move when we flushed it- and 2- it didn't fit through the hole of the toliet
My dd looked like she has just been through labor-- all sweaty and exhausted.
I spoke to the doctor and we have to start all over again for 4 months and if that doesn't work we have to take her to a GI because obviously her intestines are very stretched out.
I have to be honest I am VERY worried. I am worried about all of these chemicals in her system. I am worried that she might not ever be able to come off of them-- to be honest I am just plain worried.
Does anyone have any advice?

Re: Miralax--- Need advice, an ear or a shoulder
First off
My ds who is 4 now has been on Miralx since he has been 1. My Dr. also now gave us the Ok to start to ween since he is offically potty trained now.
We started way back when with a cap full. We had to play with the doseage A LOT!! We had some episodes like you too. We are down to 1/3 of a cup full each day. I would just play around with the dosage. It sounds like she is not ready for a dose every 2 days. She still needs more to help her. I think that if it was that big it had been sitting in there for way to long and the Miralax helps her get it all out.
Our GI was the one who put us on Miralax. If you want his number FM me. He is GREAT!!! We left another Dr that was highly recommended because he was an AZZ and told me nothing was wrong with my ds, this was all while we were in the examining room and my ds at the age of 1 was turning PURPLE trying to push out his poop.

Re: Miralax--- Need advice, an ear or a shoulder
Thank you all for the support. I am truly worried.
I had issues with laxatives in my past and I know what they can do to your system as a result. It scares me that this is going on. Part of my feels like I caused it by things that I did during college. The other part of me fears for what could happen if we don't continue with the laxatives (surgery- possibly) and there I worry about results if and when she comes off.
UGH this is so hard. Honestly it's bringing me back to when they thought her kidneys weren't functioning.
I cried thinking about the quantity that this poor this is holding in her body. UGH I just need to stop.
Thank you all again.
