I'm so glad she was found! Thank God! I saw your my subject line and my heart sank. My MIL had Alzheimers and was lost as well in a similar fashion. Thank God for people looking out and taking action.

What does your husband do? Mine works for the FDNY in Harlem.
I too passed this along to DH, he has been working all day and will be there tonight. Hope she is found safe and sound!!

apparently she went to a restaurant in harlem. She got there and realized she had no money (her purse was left on top of a car in front of the building...surprisingly untouched), the owner gave her $3 to take a bus to what she thought was still her aunts house...she never made it there bc she couldn't find it. She must have told the guy at the restaurant she had to go to the bronx so when my dad checked around that restaurant the owner told him she was headed to the bronx with the $3 he gave her so my dad went to where he thought she'd go. she's fine now...but she keeps grabbing her purse and saying she has to go home. she doesn't realize she won't be going back. she can no longer live alone, obviously. my dad has put extra latches on the door until they find care for her.
ETA: at least bc of this we ended up having an impromtu mini family reunion at my dads apt. I'm here with her now.
