mittens?????
When did you stop covering DC hands? I'm so nervous my little one's going to scratch himself!! I really like using the long sleeve shirts/gowns that have the fold over the hands, but he has so many cute onsies that I want to put him in and am afraid to yet.

My DD never wore them. My ped told us to file her nails from the get go. We did this the day we brought her home and it has never been an issue.

I put mittens on Jared all the time. I was so scared to cut his little nails. I think after I mastered the clipper it was about 3 months and then he didn't wear the mittens.

believe it or not - i found filing much harder then the clippers
it takes ALOT of practice though

when we took the baby care class in the hospital.....the woman was emphatic about NEVER using clippers. She scared the **** out of us saying that they get babies everday in the ER because a clipper caught too much of the finger/skin.
