MLSLI Inventory Data!
I posted this on LIW home board as well. There was a thread there about the MLSLI inventory.

Out of curiousity, I went and checked my google cache of MLSLI to see if the inventory was being cached. Sure enough it was. I compiled those numbers with some of the recent May 2006 numbers others on this thread have posted.

I still think these numbers are skewed. How many people that are supposedly "selling" are really serious about selling.
Seems there are a ton of people out there that will only sell if they get their magical number.

With mortgage rates at a 4 year high & inventory rates almost double what they were last May, I hope their “magical number” is flexible.

I think it makes sense that from March - May there's been an increase, since everyone says to sell in the spring.

Just out of curiousity, is that as far back as the data goes? I follow the RE market very closely and I remember thinking last spring that inventories were extremely low....

Her chart states that it goes back to March 2005, with almost HALF the inventory that's out there now.

Yes - but i remember thinking to myself last spring that inventories were unusually low so i would love to see a comparison to 2003 & 2004..... i think that the levels are still way high, even compared to those, but it might not look as drastic. this is just a guess on my part. i follow the market but i am not in the industry.......

The data came from cache files of MLSI from my Google Desktop software. So it only goes as far back as I had the software on my PC.
