MMR & Varivax all at the same time?
Just spoke to my Peds office and they tell me that DS will get the MMR & Varivax shot all at the same time.
Did anyone get all these vaccines at the same time?

Lucas received both at the same time at his 12 month appt. The only exception was if I was pregnant they wanted to hold off on the Chicken Pox vaccine (Varivax) but I wasn't so we didn't...he had both and thankfully no reaction or problem.

Both my girls received both vaccines at the same at their 12 month appts. No other reactions besides being a little sleepy like they always are after shots.

Thats good to hear. I am all for vaccinations but it just sounds like a lot of vaccines all at the same time.
I am just concerned and not sure what how I want to proceed

No my ped doesn't like to give them both at once he splits them up and gives one at 12 and one at 13 months.

He was also scheduled to receive another vaccine (since as a new doctor his schedule didn't match the old doctor's) but he held off because he doesn't like more than 2 at a time...I didn't have to say a word...so that put me at ease. But otherwise I follow the doctor's recommendation...sorry I can't be of further help.

I'm surprised that all your DC received it at the 12 monht visit, DS was suppose to get it at his 15 monht visit but was sick so we postponed the visit for later this month so he will be almost 17 months at the timeof the vaccines.

yes, Mikayla did with no reactions or problems , she got them at her 16 month appt

I believe that my ped's normal routiine is to give them all at once. However, we have already discussed the fact that I want to split the MMR and I will probably want to give Chicken Pox on a day that there are no other shots. I will probably do Chicken Pox first, which will result in a slight delay in the MMR.

Thomas will get both of these vaccines at his 18 month visit which will be in November (when he is actually almost 19 months).

i chose to postpone the MMR shots and give the chicken pox shot when I go in 2 weeks.
