Modeling (and all other) moms - "Dress to impress"?
My nephew has an audition for Nickelodeon next week. They told my sister to have him "Dress to impress". He is 10 years old. What does that mean for a 10 year old? A suit and tie is what I thought. Is a shirt & tie with suit pants good enough? What is your opinion?

Depends-on auditions I have seen the boys in long sleeve shirts with a sweater over khakis. I havent seen with a suit and tie Perhaps its for a special role-I would ask the agent to clarify.

I dont know... I feel a suit and tie would be too stuffy for a little boy auditioning for Nick... I'm thinking of what the kids look like on the shows - they dress cute - but I guess he doesnt want him showing up in jeans... maybe khakis, and a sweater vest with a nice shirt underneath?

Hmmm...A suit & tie sounds a bit much, but "dress to impress" does make it sound like you should dress him like that! I would contact them to find out more info, I'm sure they're looking for that trendy, cute GAP poster kid sort of look. Maybe a cute preppy outfit from J.Crew?

i agree with the others... a suit and tie just seems like it would be too much for a young boy, but it depends on the show. maybe she should call to get clarification. otherwise, i don't think you can go wrong with some cute khakis and a sweater or sweater vest over a button down.

I don't think a suit at all. They almost always suggest the "Gap" look. GL
