Mom cracks me up - American Idol related
Ok so my 75 year old mother watches American Idol. In conversation with my sister, she says that:
"Jambalaya survived."
Very un-PC I am sure, but given her age and hearing loss, I gave it one heck of a hearty guffaw!

yea, i call him something different everytime i talk about him (somalia, sanjaya madagascar, sangina, etc)! kudos to your mom for the valiant effort!!!

We think she was channeling my father. He used to do that all the time - but never really knew he was making mistakes. It made me smile because he was so cute!

I sort of feel bad for the kid. He knows he doesnt deserve to be there. Now there is a guy who is on a hunger strike til America votes him off. Thats a lot to have on your head at his age. I remember when that crooner guy from season 4 with the red hair (John Stevens) literally had threats on his life because he wasn't voted off. The attention these guys get is surely entertaining,(lord knows I have enjoyed many a comment) but to take it to that extreme just gives other countries a reason to laugh at us.
