Mom/daughter trip ideas?
My mom is turning 70 this summer and my sister and I would like to take her away somewhere. Paris is her favorite city and definitely a possibility, but I am looking for other ideas. Ideally another beautiful city to explore with great food and museums. Open to US as well, but not really interested in a beach vacation. Thanks!

Re: Mom/daughter trip ideas?
I have never been but I hear Charleston, SC is a great, historic city to explore.
Also Savannah, Georgia I believe.
Chicago was great- lots to see and do, museums, the architectural boat tour, top notch restaurants, etc
Or maybe Montreal?

If she has been to Paris already then I would go someplace different. Rome has a lot of history and museums. Great food too.

If you want a Europe feel, but closer, go to Quebec! It's such a foodie city, culture, it's gorgeous, and kinda French-feeling!! Great city for a mother-daughter trip / long weekend.

Re: Mom/daughter trip ideas?
Paris is my favorite city too and I’d prefer to be taken on a trip there again a billion times over a trip to anywhere else, including a place I’ve never been to before or my second and third favorite places. It’s my favorite for a reason. Just playing devils advocate.
ETA: if it’s not doable then thats understandable. I’m sure I won’t be back for the next 20 years because having kids are just too expensive to also squeeze in a trip to europe! But if you’re just looking for ideas for the sake of ideas, then that’s just my two cents..... !

Paris is my favorite city ever. Monaco is my favorite place ever. Not sure about museums there though. Barcelona is a great suggestion. Lots to do there and a beautiful spot.

Mom/daughter trip ideas?
Thank you for all the great ideas! Problem is she is picky. And she hates surprises. I think we will end up going to Paris because it IS amazing. I was there in the fall with girlfriends and I'm going again next month with dh, who's never been. But I've never been with my mom, and that would be kind of special. Her bucket list dream vacation is to go ride horses in Mongolia. That one could be tricky to pull off though! Makes Paris look really easy in comparison!
