Mommies of 2-What are you driving and do you like it??
My Murano is up in a few months and I'd like something slightly bigger for 2 kiddies. I've had the Trailblazer already so that's out. I want something decent on gas but decent on room also. TIA

I have a Toyota Sienna and I love it but you have to want a minivan. I dont mind at all - I have 3 kids and its the way to go - but I know some people are anti-minivan.
ETA: Not so decent on gas but I think its hard to have both the room and the good mileage. With 2 kids you definitely have more options though.

Re: Mommies of 2-What are you driving and do you like it??
I'm one of those antiminivan moms
I have a GMC Envoy, and it get about 15-17 mpg. Not good at all, but I love it.
Another great option is a Pontiac Vibe. The cars have plenty of room for 2 and a great space in the back for all the things you travel with. It gets excellent gas mileage too, upwards of 32 mpg.
Can you tell my DH is a dealer

I have a Pathfinder and an Impala. Both are fine but not great on gas.

I have a tahoe and while it's great for two or three kids, it's too big for me. I am looking to down size to a Pilot or.. not too sure.

I have a Nissan Quest. I will have 2 kids in Feb. I love my mini-van. I don't know how it did it for the 1st 6 months after Ryan was born. The stroller is so bulky and I found even with just 1 baby my Ford Escape was too little.

I am looking to move to a bigger car from my A4- there is absolutely no room in the back seat with the carseat & we have a dog.
How did you like the Murano? Is there 3rd row seats? How big is the back/hatch area?

I have the Saturn VUE and it works fine for us. Also great mileage. I believe they are coming out with a larger SUV this fall.

I have the Ford Escape -- but I think you are looking for something bigger. Personally I think my parents were just fine with cars -- I don't think it's necessary to go much larger then the smaller SUVs ... I mean I guess if you can afford the gas then fine, but I'm actually considering going smaller for my next car -- and something more feul effecient.
I do think that my Escape would be fine for 2 kids....with plenty of trunk space -- just could'nt have other people drive with us places, but we rarely do anyway.

I have an Acura MDX with 2 kids and 1 OTW. Its great for us now but I think I am moving into a Tahoe or Suburban once my lease is up. My Acura has a 3rd row seat but with car seats filling up the 2nd row its almost impossible to get to the 3rd row.

Re: Mommies of 2-What are you driving and do you like it??
We have a Honda Pilot and a Honda Element. I LOVE the Pilot, and it has TONS of room-seats 8, so we often travel with friends and their kids in the Pilot, and it's comfortable. However, the gas mileage isn't great. We love the Element, but the backseat has split seats, so you can only put two in the backseat, no matter what. The back is very roomy, though, so the kids have a lot of personal space.

Gina, I have the fx35 and I am not crazy about it when it comes to the kids aspect of it. Did you find it somewhat ackward to put the carriers in and out of the car and I also feel I dont have enough trunk space. I really like the Toyota Sequa and the Honda Pilot.

It's so funny that you might be going from an Audi A4 to a Murano because that's what I did (with a Trailblazer inbetween that I hated). I LOVE the Murano and I actually am trying to convince myself to lease another one-- but I think space for 2 carseats might be an issue. I have a 5 mos old and a 75lb bulldog and it works great for us. No 3rd row seats but that hatch area is pretty decent--enough for my dog. I saw the Audi Q7 truck today and its AMAZING but starts at $60,000 , maybe after I hit the lottery
Thanks for the feedback guys
