Mommies of bald beautiful girls

So DD is 16 months and her hair is finally getting thicker in the back. I am think by next year this time I will be able to put some sort of bow in her hair.
Anyway, do you find that you steer away from certain outfits because it doesn't look right that they don't have hair? I notice that I do. I also notice that I think she looks better in pattern tops than solids because of it. Oh and hats are her best friendChat Icon

Re: Mommies of bald beautiful girls

My 7yr old DD was bald until she was 2!!! At first, I put lots of hats on her to keep her bald little head warm, and then it sort of evolved into a habit. She ended up being nicknamed "Hats" by all the other moms at my older DD's school - every day at dismissal they would wait to see what hat she had on! To this day, they refer to her as "Hats!"

To answer your question about outfits not looking right, I think we definitely just focused on definitively feminine outfits. It really got annoying that people were constantly mistaking her for a boy, even up into her toddler years. The hats helped!Chat Icon

Fast forward..... 7 yr old DD has long, think curls!

Ava was mostly bald until about 14 months. Until then, I tried to keep her in "girly" clothes when we went out, but I still got comments like "what a cute little fella"! Here's her at 12 months.

DD is 4.5 months and I had a comment..."is it a boy or girl" GIRL..."well then you should put her in pink more...I was really upset by that JERK...She is getting earrings on 12/2 and I try and put her in pink!
I go usually put some sort of pink on her after that comment.poor girl

Clover is pretty much a baldy at 12 months. Whatever hair she does have is extremely thin. She's got the killer crossover.

She's beautiful..I do try and dress her in girl clothes but I am getting tired of pink. I guess I only have another year and I won't the boy comments anymore (even though she has very visible diamond earrings in)

Re: Mommies of bald beautiful girls

DD was bald until a year and still doesn't have any bangs at all, just longer curls in the back. I gave up pretty quickly on the super girly outfits, as I don't really prefer them. But I tried to avoid blue outfits! DH & I were both bald babies so I'm guessing DD #2 (due in Feb) will be too. Bald is beautiful!
