Mommies to be...I highly recommend the following...
Just a little bit of advice so you can help yourself out BEFORE you pull your hair out or your DH's
DH and I went through WEEKS of our DD SCREAMING and SCREAMING - to the point were I thought I was going to lose my mind and kill both of them (figuratively!) We even took her to the doctor and put her on perscriptions for "reflux". We were miserable. (granted reflux is something you may go through!)
Well... get yourself the DVD "Happiest Baby on The Block" Watch it with your DH and learn all the techniques so you won't be going through days with a screaming newborn.
I just watched it and it was AMAZING. I wish I had watched it earlier.

You won't regret it! SO many mommies on here recommended it to me when I was going through a VERY rough time with DD and boy were they right!

Re: Mommies to be...
I second the recommendation. The DVD makes it so clear and easy to understand (and who has time to read a whole book these days!? ).
(Right now, DH has DD swaddled and is jiggling her as we listening to "vacuum cleaner" white noise )

Re: Mommies to be...
I agree. I don't have the DVD but literally read the book in about 45 minutes flat last week when DS took a break from his crying fit. It works like a charm!

I'm reading the book right now and have the DVD for once I'm done reading.
The only thing I don't like about it is the suckling thing-to give your baby your boob even when they are not hungry just to suckle. I think I'll stick with a pacifier.
