Mommies who do not own SUV's...

What kind of car do you have? We are looking to get a new car next year and we're wondering which cars can fit all the baby stuff. We don't like SUV's or station wagons... Is this possible? Any suggestions? Thanks! Chat Icon

I do now, but for the last three years I had a Pontiac Vibe (identical to a Toyota Matrix) and I loved that car. Definitely enough room and great on gas mileage.

Other great options would be somthing like a Subaru Forrester, or is that too staion-wagon like?

We have a Camry and the car seat fits in the back fine (both the infant and the convertible)

We put our stroller (a Graco Metrolite) in the trunk and I still have plenty of room for bags from shopping. We can even get the pack n play in there with the stroller.

I've got an Accord, which is fine with just one baby. It would work with two, but would be tight I think!

I have a newer accord and that was one of the reasons i got it. The trunk is huge and the back seat can fit 2 carseats. Plus its good on gas.

we just bought a nissan altima this week. Seems like enough room. Haven't used it enough to truly judge it though. But anything is better than the 2 door honda civic i was stuffing Sidney into everyday. Chat Icon

My sister has two children (2 and 8). She had a Hyundai Elantra first, and now she has a Mitsubishi Galant. She has never had a problem.

We have an SUV, a station wagon AND an impala. All fit baby stuff pretty well. The impala has a pretty large trunk.

No children of my own (YET!!) but I do have nephews that we see quite often. This was also why we got the Honda Accord (for our own future children, not my nephews!). It is rated very high on family friendly cars.
I have put the booster seat in the back with another passenger and there was so much room! Also the trunk is huge!

We also have an Accord, but we only have one child now and do not carry too much around except for her stroller. I drive a Corolla which has been fine too. My sister has two kids, 3 and 4 mos. She drives a Civic--she fits it all in!

I think I'm probably going to upgrade the Corolla after I have another baby, just for the carseat situation.

we have a Camry and the car seat comes up to the back of the seats (DH is tall so his seat goes all the way back). Trunk space should be plenty to hold her stroller
