Mommy's pregnant with #2 or more-UPDATE
Hi Ladies, Did you bring your DC to the first sono with you?
Just a little UPDATE--Left DS home with my mom. We saw our little bean with a heartbeat!

Re: Mommy's pregnant with #2 or more
We did, but only because we didnt have a babysitter. DD is too young to understand what's going on anyway. I think she was only around 4 or 5 months old at the time.

Re: Mommy's pregnant with #2 or more
I've only had two sonos this pregnancy, one at 13w and one at 20w. DD (3yo) came to the 20w one and she enjoyed it. DH was only able to make the 13w one.
It was a little nerve wracking for me when she decided she had enough and said "okay mom, I'm going to go outside. I'll be right back." and was reaching for the door. I was still gelled up with the wand on my belly! I talked her back into sitting down but I was silently cursing bringing my social butterfly with me all by myself.

Re: Mommy's pregnant with #2 or more
No. My older DD was about one when I had my first sono with her sister and her grandparents watched her. She wouldn't have known what was going on regardless and I didn't want the distraction especially if the wait was a long one.
When I got pregnant for the third time, my first sono revealed an impending miscarriage, so for that reason alone (and when I did get pregnant again) I would never think of taking my children with me. At this point, my DDs are 3 and 4.5 and it would make a devastating time even worse.
If I had absolutely no other babysitting, then I suppose it would be a different story...

Re: Mommy's pregnant with #2 or more
I wont. I don't really want to take any attention away from DS right now. He needs it and Lord knows he will have a huge adjustment when this one comes. When it is closer, we will start preparing him then. Not now though.

No, he was only 19 mos when we found out so way too young to understand what was going on and he would have just been bored in the dr.s office.

Re: Mommy's pregnant with #2 or more
He hasn't been to any of my sono from the OB because I usually schedule my appointments when he is in school.
We did bring him to our 3D sono. We figured it would better since you can see everything so clearly. He loved it.

No, I didn't and I don't plan to. My son is too young to understand.

No. My DD is 2 and she didn't really understand what was going on until the baby came out.

Re: Mommy's pregnant with #2 or more
I didn't bring him to sonos with me - the techs need to concentrate and there is no way with my toddler she could have.
He came to all regular appointments with me because I didn't have anyone to watch him.

I brought DD to mine but it was because I didn't have a sitter. She is only 6 months so she just sat in her seat!

Re: Mommy's pregnant with #2 or more
my dd has been to almost every visit with us. I just back some snacks and a toy, but she is usually just so excited to hear the HR and to see "baby Raisin" (as she calls DD #2).
Tomorrow we have another sono and DD#1 can't wait to see "what baby doing".

Re: Mommy's pregnant with #2 or more
We brought DC#1 to my level II when we were having DC#2.
With DC#3, my kids have not been present for any of my appointments.

I brought Abby to my IUI's and sonos that were scheduled for after work hours. She had no clue what was going on.

Re: Mommy's pregnant with #2 or more
No....she wouldn't have understood what it was.
We brought her to the level 2, and she still didn't understand. She was a little over 2 yo at the time.
And we also just brought her to the growth sono, still didn't get it.
I think she knew we were looking at the baby. But didn't really quite grasp it.

Re: Mommy's pregnant with #2 or more
I did. We had already heard the heartbeat a few days before so we were confident that all was well. We told DD a couple days before the sono & told her we would take her to "meet" the baby. She sat next to the tech & "helped" with the sono. The tech printed her her own special picture of the baby too which she showed to everyone & then kept in her room
ETA: DD had just turned 3 at the time so she fully understood what was going on.

I always took my kids to the sonos because I usually have them while DH is at work.

Re: Mommy's pregnant with #2 or more
No....when I showed one son the sonogram picture of the baby when we got home he crumpled it up. So I decided against that in the future as well!
