Moms and Dads-Do you have a favorite?
If you have more then 2, is there one that stands out? My boss has a definite favorite, he feels gulity about it, but it is so clear.

I love my dad and all but my mom is my favorite. If I had to choose, I would chose her. God...that's not right but true.

not what I meant, but great spinoff!! You only have the one baby right now, but if you had another, do you think it is in your nature to have a favorite?

Re: Moms and Dads-Do you have a favorite?
I have 2, and while I was pregnant with Cassidy, I thought for sure that Scotty would be my favorite because I thought there was no possible way that I could love another as much as him. Now that she's here, no favorites at all. I love them both more than I ever thought I could possibly love anyone

I'm not a mom, but I think if I had a boy and a girl I would favor the girl.

Well, I have a boy right now and LOVE him to death. I am currently pregnant and I secretly think that he will always be my fav. But, as someone posted before I might change my mind when I see my other little one.

See I'm the complete opposite.. I always thought that if I had a boy and girl, the boy would always be my favorite (I just prefer boys for some reason, but of course would be thankful for any children I get)
Maybe it was because my Mom SO favored my brother over me.
And I just happen to think that if we have a little girl, she is TOTALLY gonna be Daddy's little girl
BUT who knows? Time will tell

Re: Moms and Dads-Do you have a favorite?
I always think me and DH will be more partial to our 1st born, since we are both first born. Kind of like another member to our group.

Re: Moms and Dads-Do you have a favorite?
No favorite here. Our son is a lot easier - I'm hoping it's because his sister is 2 and she'll grow out of it. We love them both the same amount.
When I first had Maddie, I was having horrible nightmares that we were in danger and I could only save one. I was always saving Joseph - it went on like this every night for almost 2 weeks - varying dangers like fire, drowning, etc. The guilt I was feeling was tremendous. I couldn't tell anyone thinking they would think I didn't love Maddie. Finally, I had a dream - car was submerged - I saved both of them. I woke up so relieved. Never had the dream where I've saved only one since.
We never had favorites in our family - we just had more of who was more high maintenance at different times. I think it's my mom that pushes the equality factor. My dad's mom has a clear favorite between 2 sons, 6 grandchildren & now 12 great grandchildren.

See, my DH is already talking about if we have a son taking him fishing, to baseball games, etc., and I'm like I'll go shopping and for manis with our daughter! OK, maybe stereotypical gender roles, but I was so close to my mom I just can't imagine having a daughter who wouldn't be my best friend.

i feel the same way!!
i also always say that i'd rather have 4 boys than 2 girls (obviously, i'd be happy just having healthy babies, but you cant help but think about it)
i sometimes wonder if it was b/c growing up, i got along sooo much better with my brother than my sister, and all my friends were boys. My sister and i used to get into fist fights, we'd walk away from an argument with fists full of hair, and when i went to sleep at night, she'd color the bottoms of my feet with green PERMANENT marker so yeah, she used up all the patience i had for girls.
but we get along now. sort of.
