Mom's I have another question for you
First, thank you all for answering all my questions lately. I never though registering would be so hard.
Do you use/have that big mirror that goes in the back seat so you can see the baby when the car seat is rear facing. I thought this would be helpful but DH made a good point saying he thinks it might be more distracting.
So is this something I should get? I have a Mazda CX-7 crossover if that matters.

I never got one. It would be nice to see DD, but I heard they aren't safe - they could fly off in an accident (supposedly). I do think I prob would be distracted watching her too.

I had it and you're right, it was distracting. We ended up taking it out!

Re: Mom's I have another question for you
Do you have a tether system in your car? If so, I would get the Fisher Price Rainforest one, or any other one that attaches to the tether. That way you don't have to worry about it flying off since it's latched down by the same mechanism that attaches the carseats to the tether.

Re: Mom's I have another question for you
I had one, but only because I had an irrational fear of her spitting up, choking on it and dying. I know, I said irrational, right? She had reflux, and every little noise I heard, I thought it was something horrible, so I got the mirror. Then I became obsessed with looking at her, so next time around, no mirror for us. I say forget the mirror. You could always buy it if you want/need it later.

Yes the police officer who installed our car seats said they are a huge safety hazzard to the baby. If it gets loose in an accident it will be the first thing to project right into DC
Also remove all other loose items in the back seat... tissue boxes, etc. They become projectiles at a high rate of speed.

Re: Mom's I have another question for you
I have a video monitor, that I LOVE. I don't have a video monitor for the house, but I have one for the car - go figure.
It mounts right on the dash so I find it less distracting than the mirror AND you can see the baby at night (night vision camera).
I drive alone with her a lot, and this is one of my favorite baby gear items. I recommend it to all my friends.

That's what the person who inspected told us.
No car seat protector, no mirrors, no toys hanging from the car seat handle, etc..

Same here. I can see her face if she's about to have a meltdown and have enough time to sing the ABC's to distract her before it happens

Re: Mom's I have another question for you
We had one. (It was padded and the mirror wasn't breakable) I really liked having it, especially as a first time mom. It made me feel better when I couldn't see her.
