Moms of 2+ - when did you set up all the baby gear again?

My c-section is scheduled for October 15th. I am so crazy anal that I want everything set up right now - so that I know it's done.

When did you do things like install the carseat? Set up the swing, bouncy etc? I have a changing table that will be on the first floor of my house - when should I set this up?

I'm starting to get antsy.....

I have 10 days left and still have pretty much nothing set up. The only thing I did was wash a coming home outfit and PNP sheets (baby will be sleeping in the bassinet part when she comes home). The infant carrier and car seat base are in the trunk of my car, but not set up yet. I figured DH can handle everything while I'm in the hospital!

I am due for a repeat c/s on 9/30 (3 weeks left woo hoo) and have set up the swing last week. It was in my parent's basement and I wanted to wash the cover and give it time to air out. I figure the PNP takes 2 minutes to set up as our downstairs changing table so we will set it up the week I am to deliver. I am going to put the second car seat in the car after Rosh Hashanah 9/19 b/c we are coming to NY and I want to have the space in the car. Crib and changing table are set up from DS. I plan on washing DDs clothing and bedding in a week or so b/c I don't want them sitting around for a while as I would feel like I would need to rewash them again.

I will set up the bouncer and exersaucer after the baby is born.

Thanks everyone! I know my mom is starting to get the bassinet ready. I have gone through all of the clothes so that's all ready - we are just waiting for Jack's furniture to come in to switch the rest to the baby's room - but I will do that over the next weekend or so, even if his furniture doesn't come in yet.

I guess we'll basically do the rest on the days we don't have parties on the weekends since that is pretty limited.

About 2 months before DS#2 I started really organizing but set up was done about 3 weeks before

I had a List called "Things to Do before Baby #2" if you want it

I had everything set up a month before Nikolas came.

My situation was a little different because we weren't in our own home but here is what I had.

Carseat: Dh installed while I was in the hospital because he had to get it at my dad's house and he knew how to install it already.

Bassinet: we set it up around 37 weeks

Bouncy and swing: 1 week pp since we were in our house then.

For you, I would have all set up one week before you are due.

We just set up the crib and changing table last weekend...and washed and sorted clothes/blankets...

The car seats will be installed while I'm in the hospital and the swings and bouncers put together then as well.

The rest ( excersaucer etc ) will be done as needed.

Um when DD#2 showed up We had her furniture delivered but I was scheduled for a csection on June 3rd - and we planned to spend Memorial day weekend setting up the swing, bouncer, cosleeper, getting her crib sheets out, washing clothes etc. BUT DD#2 had other ideas. I ended up preeclampsic and went to the hospital that friday night and DD#2 was born the Saturday before memorial day. So we just set it all up when I came home from the hospital.

Safety Chris on the other hand told me to install my seats a month before I was due b.c it would get DD#1 used to her new seat position (behind the driver) without making her feel she was being replaced by the baby. I got it in only 1-2 weeks before DD#2 made her appearance. I would do the car seats now if you can do it. This way it is done and not an issue.

I'm starting now and I'm not due until December.

I have this crazy need for everything to be done early this time.

I'll probably set some stuff up after the 1st of Oct. - the base of the carseat in the car...the swing.

Pretty much everything else is already done

i had a feeling #2 was going to come early and she did 18 days...

i had everything set up a month, month and half before my scheduled C

I put the swing, bouncy & bassinet together when I was about 38 weeks. I installed the carseat in the parking lot of the hospital the day we went home

I was horrible, I set up the bassinet a few days b4 I was scheduled to be induced, I set up nothing else, other than had some clothes washed.
The carseat, DH set up while I was in the hospital, and everything else was on an as needed basis.
