Moms of 2/3/4 month olds who work
I have 3 more weeks off with DD, then I have to go back to work when she's 12 weeks.
Could you share your morning & night schedules with me? Your morning routine, your nighttime routine, how long they sleep, etc.? I just can't figure out how the heck I'm going to get out of the house in the morning and what our nights will look like.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Moms of 2/3/4 month olds who work
I'm going back to work on Tuesday and DD is 4 months. We have a nanny coming to the apt so I cant comment on how long it takes to get DD to daycare, etc.
8pm (thereabouts) DD goes to sleep
5-6am DD wakes and I breastfeed - she goes back to sleep.
6am I'll get out of bed and shower while she sleeps, and pump
7:30-8:00 DD is awake again. DH will tend to her. She'll have a bottle 3 hours after her 5am/6am nursing.
I'll be out the door by 7:30. DH will be with her until 8:30 when the nanny comes.
When nanny is here - she'll eat every 3 hours (hopefully). She'll take a nap at 10am, 12 and 2pm. DH will be home around 4pm. I'll be home around 5:30-6pm. She'll breastfeed for her dinner, last feeding and 5am feeding with me, plus one bottle of pumped milk. So she'll end up with more or less 2-3 bottles of formula a day and the rest are breastmilk. I'll also pump at work.
This is the schedule for me - I work as a professor and am at school 3 days a week.

Re: Moms of 2/3/4 month olds who work
I just went back to work at the end of July. My DS was 11wks old. I've been back at work now for 5 wks.
6am- get up. DH is in charge of DS while I am- getting the bottles ready, packing up pumping equipment and showering. Sometimes, I take DS in the middle and put him in his bouncy chair in the kitchen while I am getting things ready.
7am- I BF my DS (My DS has always been a very efficient $ucker so he typically eats for about 10 minutes.)
7:15/7:30- I'm in the car and heading off to daycare. The drive is about 50min. DS sleeps during the ride.
8/8:15am- arrive at daycare
8:30-5pm- at work
5:15pm- pick up DS and head home. BF him in the car before we head out. He takes another nap in the car.
6:15/6:30p- arrive home. Sometimes DS stays asleep for a while longer. As soon as I get in the door I try to get the EBM in the fridge and the dirty bottles and pumping stuff into the dishwasher so I can run it. If he's still asleep, I eat dinner.
*On the nights he wakes up, I give him a bath. (Seems to work out to every other night.)
*He really sleeps a lot in the evening now that he's in daycare. Many nights he only wakes to eat and then is back down to sleep. It's so stimulating there and he doesn't always nap as much there so he's really exhausted at night.

Re: Moms of 2/3/4 month olds who work
Cailen went to daycare at 9 weeks...
He wakes up anywhere between 4-5 AM. I cuddle with him for about a half hour, then give him a bath and get him dressed. Then I feed him, and go into the shower. After that, I prepare his bottles.
I usually am out the door between 7:30-9:00 depending on my schedule for the day. Now that he's older, I put him in front of Noggin after his bath while I get ready
Its not easy, I'll admit, and I'm going to start giving him his baths at night to cut some time in the morning... but I'm so used to the routine. You just start going on automatic eventually!
