MOms of 2 with 2 years age difference
What is the deal with strollers?
Right now I have the Peg-Perego Venezia and we still use it everywhere. I am a t a loss of what to do after the baby comes though...
Do I get a double stroller? Do I get a mclaren for Benjamin and use Per-Perego for the new baby? Do I get a double stroller because, of course, there will be lots of times when I will be outside with both of them...
I am confused...
What is everyone doing?

I have a duo glider. I used it a lot when Emma was younger but not so much anymore. I will be using it again when baby comes.

Re: MOms of 2 with 2 years age difference
My 2 are exactly 2 years apart and I got a Sit and Stand stroller. One of the best tings I ever invested in. I won't go anywhere with out it. Andrew is a big boy too - he's 36 lbs and 38 inches. I couldn't see him being smooshed into a side by side double, even though I like some of them. And the front to back double strollers are HEAVY and too expensive for me. With the sit and stand, Andrew can sit or stand, Lauren went in her infant car seat in it, and now that she is older, they both have a seat in it. Really worth the $115 we spent (we got it on sale last year at this time). They sell them in BRU, BBB and even saw some in Target. I would test them, as each one is different. With mine (I bought at One Step Ahead, but don't see it online anymore), the front seat for the infant can recline AND Andrew can still sit. In some of them, if the front seat is reclined, it blocks the back jump seat for the older child. Just something to look out for!

Re: MOms of 2 with 2 years age difference
We have a 3 year gap, but we also got a Sit and Stand type stroller. I think it's a Baby Trend. With ours, the older child either stands facing forward, or sits on the jump seat, facing the pusher. The front seat has a bracket for the infant car seat, and it reclines.
They aren't as big as a true double stroller, which makes maneuvering a lot easier.
Here's ours: BabyTrend Sit-N-Stand

Re: MOms of 2 with 2 years age difference
I had a sit-n-stand that I used with Jordan and Mallory and I've come to really hate it... it's impossible to manuever... so I just ordered a duoglider for the new baby and Mallory

I have a duo glider which I HATE, it's so heavy and hard to maneuver. We got a Baby Trend Sit N Stand from One Step Ahead 2 weeks ago and so far I love it. You have to call to order it, they haven't put them up online but have them in stock.
Or if Target has them in stock, it's the same exact Sit N Stand as ONe STep Ahead but you save on the shipping.
The Baby Trend one is the only one where the baby can be reclined and the older one can still sit. THe Joovy one does not allow for this.

Oh, I was looking for it online to post a picture and wondered why it disappeared!
Yes, the baby trend one (mine isn't baby trend but actually says One Step Ahead) is longer in length than the Joovy, but well worth it because you can recline the front seat and the jump seat is still useable to sit on!
Here's my kids in it (the front seat needs to be reclined to have the infant car seat in it):

Re: MOms of 2 with 2 years age difference
Does the rear seat really contain them well? I mean, if they are having a 2 year old meltdown, are you able to secure them in the seat? I really want to get rid of my duoglider but I need containment at times (oh boy do I need it! )
ETA: As always, Trish, your kids are so frickin CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Liz, yes, there is a 3-pt harness on the jump seat and I can 100% vouch that it contained Andrew very well during a meltdown! I would not have gotten it if I couldn't strap him in. THe front seat where Lauren is has a 5-pt harness.

Re: MOms of 2 with 2 years age difference
Those of you who have the sit and stand type stroller do your older kids ever fall asleep? I would think that it would be very uncomfortable for them sitting up like that.

Andy has fallen asleep in the front. Sarah never slept in the stroller (or the car seat for that matter) so it doesn't make a difference to me.

Same here. My 2-1/2 year old will not sleep in any stroller, so that wasn't an issue for us. Lauren has slept fine in the front seat!

Re: MOms of 2 with 2 years age difference
I have the Graco Duoglider and the Peg Perego Aria Twin. I like the Duoglider because it fits the infant carrier (carseat) and my DS is only 3 months old. But, I went to the mall last week and used the Peg Perego and LOVED it. And my DD (2 years old), was much more comfortable in the side by side and never asked to get out of the stroller, which is all she does when she is in the duoglider.

Re: MOms of 2 with 2 years age difference
Thank you all for your replies!
Trish, I called OneStepAhead and asked about Sit and Stand you have. They said that the reason why it isn't posted on line is because they just changed the item number on that thing ( why, who knows) and haven;t put it back on their website yet. But it is availbale for purchase.
I think I am really leaning towards it! I went on line to see other versions and it seems that like you said, with a lot of other models the toddler's seat becomes a stand spot only when the front seat is reclined...
